La Liga enters Matchday 11 with the focus firmly on the title race, as leaders Real Madrid look to maintain their five-point cushion at the summit when they welcome struggling Valencia to the Bernabéu. On Saturday, in-form Atletico Madrid aim to keep pace with their city rivals as they host an inconsistent Sevilla side at the Metropolitano, while Sunday sees Barcelona return to the Lluís Companys eager to bounce back from last weekend’s El Clásico defeat when they face newly-promoted Elche.
In the outright betting, Real Madrid remain firm favourites at 2/5, with Barcelona drifting slightly to around 9/4 after their loss in the Clásico. Atletico Madrid follow at 33/1, while the rest, including Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao, can be found at 100/1 or greater.

SATURDAY
ATLETICO MADRID v SEVILLA – Click here to bet
We start off this weekend’s preview at the Metropolitano, where hosts Atletico Madrid will look to extend their impressive run of form that has seen their unbeaten domestic streak reach nine league matches following Monday evening’s clinical 2-0 away win over Real Betis.
Diego Simeone’s men are currently fourth in the standings on 19 points and will sense an opportunity to break into the top three this weekend given Sevilla’s recent struggles. At home, Atletico have been formidable, unbeaten at the Metropolitano this term with five wins and one draw across all competitions, boasting the third-best home record in the division.
Sevilla, meanwhile, make the trip to Madrid looking to avoid a third straight league defeat after losing 2-1 away to Real Sociedad last weekend. It has been a disappointing spell for Matías Almeyda’s side, who have collected just six points from a possible fifteen in their last five outings. They sit mid-table in 11th with 13 points after ten rounds, though their away record offers a glimmer of hope, three wins from five on their travels, finding the net in all but one of those matches. Prior to last week’s defeat, Sevilla had won three consecutive away games, suggesting they can be dangerous when given space to counter.
Head-to-Head
Last season, Atletico Madrid completed a league double over Sevilla, winning this fixture 4-3 before following up with a 2-1 victory in the reverse encounter. The hosts have dominated this matchup in recent years, winning six of the last seven meetings across all competitions.
Betting
Atletico Madrid 9/25
Draw 17/4
Sevilla 7/1
Verdict
Atletico have rediscovered their trademark solidity and attacking edge, while Sevilla remain inconsistent despite flashes of improvement on the road. With the Metropolitano once again proving a fortress, Simeone’s men should continue their fine form against a side they’ve regularly had the measure of.
Suggested Bet: Atletico Madrid to win & Both Teams to Score at 43/20
REAL MADRID v VALENCIA – Click here to bet
Real Madrid remain at the Bernabéu this weekend, where Xabi Alonso’s side enter week 11 as runaway leaders in La Liga following their 2-1 victory over Barcelona in last weekend’s El Clásico. That result extended Los Blancos’ lead at the summit to five points, with the league leaders having lost just once all season, winning twelve of their thirteen matches across all competitions.
Their home record has been impeccable, seven wins from seven at the Bernabéu this campaign, including five in La Liga. Madrid’s relentless consistency, both in attack and defence, has set them apart early in the title race, and they look intent on maintaining that momentum.
Valencia, on the other hand, face a daunting task as they look to snap a five-match winless run. Carlos Corberán’s side sit 18th with only nine points after a 2-0 home defeat to Villarreal last weekend, their fifth loss in ten league outings. They remain without an away win this season, having lost three and drawn two of their five road games. Clean sheets have been rare, with just one to show for their efforts on their travels.
Head-to-Head
The sides shared the spoils last season, with both claiming 2-1 wins away from home. Real Madrid triumphed at the Mestalla, while Valencia stunned Los Blancos with the same scoreline at the Bernabéu.
Betting
Real Madrid 21/100
Draw 25/4
Valencia 11/1
Verdict
Real Madrid are flying and should relish another home fixture against a Valencia side struggling for confidence. Despite European distractions just three day later for Los Blancos, it’s difficult to see Los Che offering much resistance given Real Madrid’s current run of form.
Suggested Bet: Real Madrid to win & Over 2.5 goals at 57/100

SUNDAY
BARCELONA v FC ELCHE – Click here to bet
Barcelona return to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys this weekend, where they will play host to Elche in round eleven of La Liga. Yet to feature at Camp Nou this season due to ongoing permit restrictions, it’s been a challenging transitional period for Hansi Flick’s men. Last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to arch-rivals Real Madrid in El Clásico made it three losses from their last five matches in all competitions, two of those coming in the league.
Despite that setback, Barça remain firmly in the title race, sitting second on 22 points, five adrift of Real Madrid. Their “home” form has been faultless, winning all four league matches at the Lluís Companys, scoring 13 and conceding only twice. Flick will expect a response from his side this weekend.
Elche arrive off a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Espanyol, making it two losses from their last three outings. Even so, Eder Sarabia’s side have impressed since promotion, currently sitting 8th with 14 points, well above expectations. Their home form has been the backbone of their success, but away from home it’s been a different story, winless in five, collecting just three points from a possible fifteen, perhaps giving us an indication of what to expect from the visitors when facing a Barcelona unit desperate to make things right after last week’s setback.
Head-to-Head
Barcelona were dominant when these sides last met in the 2022/23 campaign, winning both fixtures by a combined score of 7-0. The Catalans have also won each of their last eight league meetings with Elche.
Betting
Barcelona 23/100
Draw 6/1
Elche 10/1
Verdict
Barcelona will be eager to bounce back after their El Clásico defeat, and Flick’s men should find the perfect opportunity here. Elche have overachieved so far but are unlikely to contain a Barcelona side with something to prove on home soil. Expect goals and a confident response from the hosts.
Suggested Bet: Barcelona to win & Over 2.5 goals at 14/25
