Kaizer Chiefs enjoyed a relatively smooth path to the Nedbank Cup final this season.
They began with a commanding 4–0 victory over Free Agents in January, followed by a comfortable 3–0 win against Chippa United. In the quarter-finals, they travelled to face Stellenbosch and came away with a solid 3–1 away win.
Their most recent match was the semi-final, where they produced a strong performance to edge Mamelodi Sundowns 2–1 on the road, securing their place in the final.
Orlando Pirates, on the other hand, faced a few close contests but delivered when it mattered most.
They kicked off their campaign with a 3–1 win over Richards Bay, followed by another 3–1 victory against Baroka. In the quarter-finals, they battled a determined SuperSport United side but managed to prevail 3–2 away from home.
In the semi-finals, they hosted Marumo Gallants and earned a hard-fought 1–0 win to seal their spot in the final.
