We have World Cup 2026 qualifying action to look forward to on Thursday night, and we’ll take a look at two of the matches from a betting angle.
France v Ukraine – click here to bet
France currently lead Group D with 10 points from 4 games and remain unbeaten in qualifying. Their last action was a 2-2 draw away to Iceland in October, ending a run of three consecutive victories. At home, they’ve been clinical and scored 3 goals in their game against Azerbaijan in their most recent fixture in front of their own fans.
Ukraine sit 2nd in the group with 7 points from 4 matches of which they have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1. They’ve shown resilience recently, claiming consecutive wins over Iceland where they won 5-3 on the road and their last encounter saw them edge Azerbaijan 2-1 on home turf.
Head-to-Head:
These sides met earlier on in the qualifiers where France dominated the clash to claim a 2-0 victory away from home.
Betting:
- France 1.21
- Draw 6.75
- Ukraine 12.00
Verdict:
France are strong at home and rarely drop points in qualifying. Ukraine have attacking quality but are shaky defensively and it’s hard to see them keeping the hosts quiet.
Bet: France to win & Over 2.5 goals at 1.77

England v Serbia – click here to bet
England are flying in Group K, sitting on top with a perfect record of six wins from six as well as 18 goals scored and none conceded. Their latest action saw them make light work of Latvia, winning 5-0 away to continue their run of dominant results and clean sheets.
Serbia are 3rd with 10 points from 6 matches. They’ve been inconsistent, beating Andorra away from home in their latest test, but they also lost to Albania and England in recent weeks. Their 3-1 victory over Andorra helped them steady things, but this will be another tough run out against the Group leaders.
Head-to-Head:
The two teams went head-to-head in September where England came home with an impressive 5-0 triumph in front of an opposing crowd.
Betting:
- England 1.33
- Draw 5.25
- Serbia 9.00
Verdict:
England are playing with authority and confidence, and their defence has been watertight throughout qualifying. Serbia struggle away from home and were completely outclassed in the first fixture, I am expecting a similar outcome this time around.
Bet: England – Correct Score 3-0 at 9.00
