World Cup 2026 qualifying action continues on Sunday evening, and we’ll take a look at two matches from a betting angle.
Albania v England – click here to bet
Albania come into this fixture in strong form, sitting 2nd in Group K with 14 points from seven matches. Their campaign has been built on defensive discipline and narrow victories, with recent wins over Andorra and Serbia both finishing 1-0 away from home.
They’ve scored just seven goals but have been difficult to break down, conceding only three. Playing at home has also brought steady returns though they remain far from prolific in attack.
England have been completely dominant, top of the group with a perfect record of seven wins from seven and remarkably yet to concede a single goal. Their 20-0 goal difference highlights their superiority, with recent victories including a 5-0 away win over Latvia and a 2-0 home success against Serbia in their latest fixture.
Consistency and defensive solidity remain their biggest strengths as they look to continue their flawless run.
Head-to-Head:
The last time these sides met was in March where England picked up a 2-0 home victory as heavy favourites.
Betting:
Albania 7.25
Draw 4.75
England 1.40
Verdict:
Albania are organised and competitive, but England have been superb and look several levels above every other team in the group. With their defence still unbreached, it’s hard to look past another professional away performance here.
Bet: Result and Both Teams to Score – England and No at 2.30

Italy v Norway – click here to bet
Italy sit 2nd in Group I with 18 points from seven matches and remain firmly in qualification control. Their recent form has been excellent, winning six of their seven fixtures, including comfortable victories over Israel and Estonia.
They have scored 20 goals in their campaign so far and have shown steady improvement going forward, while still maintaining a reliable defensive structure that’s let in just 8 shots. Their latest action saw them beat Moldova 2-0 on the road a couple of days ago.
Norway have been the standout team of the group, leading with 21 points and winning all seven of their matches. They have been ruthless in attack, scoring an incredible 33 goals, including an 11-1 thrashing of Moldova in September and back-to-back 5-0 and 4-1 wins over Israel and Estonia more recently.
Head-to-Head:
These sides clashed in June where Norway hosted Italy and put on a solid display to win the fixture 3-0.
Betting:
Italy 2.05
Draw 3.65
Norway 3.40
Verdict:
Italy have been solid, but Norway’s form has been exceptional and their attack is firing on all cylinders. This should be one of the most competitive matches of the round, but Norway’s momentum and firepower make them excellent value at the price.
Bet: Norway to Win at 3.40
