World Cup 2026 qualifying action continues on Monday night and look at two of the matches from a betting angle.

Germany come into this fixture on top of Group A with 12 points from five matches, having recovered well after their early defeat to Slovakia. Since that loss, they’ve produced four straight victories, keeping three clean sheets and scoring 10 goals in the process. Their most recent results include a routine 2-0 win away at Luxembourg and a solid 1-0 success in Northern Ireland.
The Germans have tightened up defensively and look far more composed in possession as they aim to avenge the only blemish on their campaign so far.
Slovakia sit level with Germany on 12 points and have been one of the surprise packages of the group. Their success has been built on structure and discipline, with only two goals conceded in qualifying. They’ve won four of their last five matches, including a controlled 2-0 home victory over Luxembourg and a narrow 1-0 win against Northern Ireland.
Away from home, they’ve picked up points consistently, but they remain a low-scoring side that rely on fine margins.
Head-to-Head:
These sides last met in September, where Slovakia produced the shock of the round by beating Germany 2–0 at home. Prior to that, Germany had dominated meetings, including a 3–0 victory at Euro 2016.
Betting:
Germany 1.23
Draw 6.50
Slovakia 11.00
Verdict:
Slovakia deserve respect for how organised they’ve been, but Germany’s recent improvement plus home advantage make them strong favourites. A controlled start is likely, but the hosts’ attacking depth should eventually break down Slovakia’s resistance.

Montenegro v Croatia – click here to bet
Montenegro sit 4th in Group L with nine points from seven matches and have struggled for consistency. Their last five outings include heavy defeats to the Faroe Islands and Czech Republic, while their most recent win came in a tight 2-1 away result against Gibraltar.
Scoring has been a major issue with just six goals in seven matches and defensively they have conceded 14 times, making them one of the leakiest sides in the group.
Croatia, meanwhile, have been in complete control of their group. They top the table with six wins and one draw, boasting a remarkable 23–2 goal difference. Their recent results include a 3-1 win against the Faroe Islands and a comfortable 3-0 victory over Gibraltar.
Croatia’s ability to dominate possession, create chances, and maintain defensive discipline has made them one of the most reliable sides in the entire qualifying campaign.
Head-to-Head:
Their only meeting in this cycle came in September, where Croatia cruised to a 4-0 home win.
Betting:
Montenegro 7.50
Draw 5.00
Croatia 1.38
Verdict:
Montenegro tend to lift their game at home, but Croatia’s quality, depth and defensive stability make them overwhelming favourites. The visitors should control the tempo and create enough chances to win comfortably again.
