South Africa will be looking to book their spot in the Round of 16 when they take on Tunisia at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo on Wednesday. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.
A reminder that the long-term African Cup of Nations are updated after each day of games and at the time of writing South Africa are 10/1 to win Group E with Mali the 2/13 favourites, Namibia priced at 9/1 and Tunisia are 15/20 to finish bottom.
Morocco are the 33/10 favourites to lift the cup.

SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa opened their campaign against Mali and looked good until half-time, but conceded 2 second-half goals to go down 2-0. They were 1/1 to beat Namibia in their second match and they delivered a convincing 4-0 victory with a brace from Zwane, a penalty from Tau and Maseko completing the scoring in the 75th minute.
TUNISIA
Tunisia were 4/10 shots to beat Namibia in their opener, but they were stunned, failing to score and going down 1-0 to the Namibians who were on offer at 10/1. The winner came in the 88th minute and put Tunisia’s backs firmly against the wall.
Tunisia’s second game was against Mali where they started at just over 2/1 and having conceded a 10th minute goal, they equalised in the 20th through Rafia and there was no further action as the game finished 1-1.

South Africa 26/10
Draw 2/1
Tunisia 5/4
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These sides haven’t met since the 2008 African Cup of Nations where Tunisia won 3-1 and the sides have met 4 times in the African Cup of Nations since 1996 and they have each won twice.
VERDICT
South Africa’s opening game against Mali wasn’t as bad as people made out and they could have taken the lead in the first-half. They were impressive against Namibia and I haven’t been impressed with Tunisia in this Tournament to date and I am a bit surprised to see South Africa clear underdogs in this one. I would have been happy to back them at anywhere around the 2/1 mark so getting 26/10 is too tempting for me to resist.
Suggested Bet: South Africa win at 26/10
Tunisia can still qualify with a victory over South Africa, although they would need Namibia not to beat Mali. Tunisia will have no choice, but to come forward in search of goals and that could make them vulnerable. This could potentially be an arm-wrestle with very few goals, but I am tempted by the 17/10 that we get 3 goals or more as this game could very well open up due to circumstances, we have seen a few high scoring encounters in the final round of group matches.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 17/10
Let’s finish off with a speculative play. Zwane was impressive in the game against Namibia, scoring in the 25th and 40th minute and I am going to back him to get the first goal at a double figure price.
Suggest Bet: Zwane 1st Goal Scorer at 10/1
