We round off the quarter-final stage of the African Cup of Nations with another high-quality double-header on Saturday, as Nigeria face Algeria in what looks the tightest matchup of the round, before Egypt meet Ivory Coast in a classic North v West Africa showdown.

Hosts Morocco continue to head the market at 3.00 heading into the semi-finals, with Senegal next best at 4.50. Nigeria remain firmly in contention at 6.00, while Ivory Coast and Algeria are both priced at 9.00. Egypt sit just behind at 10.00, with the winner of Saturday night’s matches expected to shorten significantly.

Algeria vs Nigeria
Kick-off: 18:00
Algeria have been one of the most efficient sides in the tournament. They topped Group E with a 100% record, conceding just once, before edging past DR Congo in extra time in the Round of 16 thanks to a late winner after the teams were deadlocked 0-0 after 90 minutes. They are tactically disciplined, difficult to break down, and comfortable in tight knockout fixtures.
Nigeria arrive with arguably the most impressive attacking numbers in the competition. They won all three group matches in Group C, scoring eight goals, and then swept Mozambique aside 4–0 in the Round of 16. Their pace, physicality and depth going forward make them a constant threat, although this is easily their toughest test so far.

Algeria 3.15
Draw 3.00
Nigeria 2.50
Verdict
This shapes as a tight, tactical encounter, but Nigeria’s attacking firepower may prove the difference if the game opens up.
Betting angles I like here include:
• Draw at Half Time / Nigeria Full Time at 5.75
• Match Result and Under 2.5 Goals, Nigeria and Under at 4.75
• Correct Score Algeria 0 Nigeria 1 at 7.75
I am going to keep things simple though
BET: Nigeria win at 2.50
Egypt vs Ivory Coast
Kick-off: 21:00
Egypt have once again shown their ability to manage tournament football. They topped Group B undefeated and then needed extra time to see off Benin 3–1 in the Round of 16, scoring twice late on after the sides were level at 1-1 after 90 minutes. As ever, they are organised, patient and happy to let games remain tight deep into the contest.
Ivory Coast finished top of Group F on goals scored and they produced one of their best performances of the tournament in a convincing 3–0 win over Burkina Faso in the Round of 16, having led 2-0 at the break. They look to be peaking at the right time and now carry slight favouritism in the betting.

Egypt 3.25
Draw 2.90
Ivory Coast 2.50
Verdict
This could be a cagey affair and while I expect Ivory Coast to make the running this one has the feel of a game that goes to extra time and where goals are at a premium.
Betting angles I like here include:
• Under 1.5 Total Goals at 2.50
• Match Result the Draw at 2.90
• Correct Score Egypt 0 Ivory Coast 0 at 7.00
BET: Under 1.5 Total Goals at 2.50
