We take a look at 3 of the 3rd Round FA Cup matches taking place on Saturday and suggest a bet in each game.
Sunderland v Newcastle – Click here to bet
Sunderland are currently plying their trade in the Championship where they sit 6th on the log and are undefeated in their last 3 starts. They are massive outsiders to win the FA Cup and are currently priced at 200/1.
Newcastle have fallen to 9th in the English Premier League and they have lost their last 3 matches in succession including going down 4-2 away to Liverpool last time out. Bookmakers fancy them for a run at the FA Cup and they are currently priced at 11/1.
These sides have a fierce history but haven’t met since they were both in the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.
I think Newcastle will be eyeing the FA Cup as an opportunity to get something from what is fast looking like a disappointing season.
Suggested Bet: Newcastle win at 8/10
Stoke v Brighton – Click here to bet
Stoke are currently 19th on the Championship and while they are undefeated in their last 6 League starts, 5 of those games have been draws.
Brighton are currently 7th in the EPL and are coming off a goalless draw away to West Ham. They have only lost 1 of their last 7 matches across all competitions.
These sides met in last season’s FA Cup with Brighton winning 1-0 away from home.
Brighton are 16/1 to win the FA Cup and Stoke are rank outsiders at 200/1. 6 of the last 7 Stoke matches have been low scoring and I am going to have a go at under 2.5 goals.
Suggested Bet: Under 2.5 goals at 11/8

Chelsea v Preston – Click here to bet
Chelsea are currently 10th in the English Premier League and they are coming off back-to-back wins away at Luton and at home to Crystal Palace.
Preston currently sit 14th in the Championship and they have lost 4 of their last 5 matches including going down 2-0 away at Sunderland last time out.
Chelsea are joint second favourites at 9/1 in the Outright Betting with Preston considered rank outsiders at 500/1. Chelsea are short priced favourites at 1/5 and justifiably so and I am going to back them to score at least 3 goals.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 8/10
