We now shift our focus to the final round of both Group C and Group D in the UEFA European Championship, set for Tuesday, June 25, where we’ll propose a betting option for each match.
Before we do so, let’s review the latest outright market prices. France and Germany remain joint favourites at 4/1, with pre-tournament favourite England holding steady at 9/2. Spain follows closely at 5/1, with Portugal just behind at 11/2. The Netherlands continue to attract attention at 14/1, while the rest of the field is available at odds of 20/1 or better.

NETHERLANDS v AUSTRIA – Click here to bet
Group D pace-setters, the Netherlands, will take on Austria this coming Tuesday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. This match promises to be a thrilling encounter between two teams eager to make a statement in their final group match knowing that progression beyond the group stages are at stake. Currently leading the group with four points from two matches, Die Oranje knows that any positive result will effectively confirm their status in the round of 16. Coming off a 0-0 draw against the French on Friday, the Dutch go into Tuesday’s game firmly in the driving seat, knowing that securing first place in the group standings will also enhance their chances of a favourable draw in the next round.
Austria enters Tuesday’s all-important clash in Berlin sitting third in the group standings with three points. Needing a win to guarantee their progression, the Austrians must respond accordingly if they are to reach the round of 16 for only the second time in their history in this tournament. Coming off a well-deserved 3-1 victory over Poland in their most recent encounter, a draw would likely be enough against the Netherlands to see them progress as one of the higher-ranked third-place teams, but it’s a risk not worth relying on should results go against them elsewhere.
Head-to-Head
These two sides have met 19 times, with the Netherlands dominating the record with 9 wins, 4 draws, and 6 defeats. Their most recent encounter resulted in a 2-0 win for the Netherlands in the UEFA European Championship back in June 2021.
Betting
Netherlands 5/4
Draw 22/10
Austria 5/2
Prediction
This encounter is too close to call and unlikely to present many goals. However, I think the Dutch will continue their unbeaten streak leading into the knockout stages. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if this one resulted in a low-scoring draw. My preference would be for the Dutch to avoid defeat with three goals or fewer involved.
Suggested Bet: Double Chance and Total, Netherlands/Draw and under 3.5 at 17/20

FRANCE v POLAND – Click here to bet
France, one of the tournament favourites, has yet to show what they are truly capable of in this tournament. With Kylian Mbappe temporarily side-lined, the group stages have been somewhat dampened, given how impressive the French team look when their number 10 features on the pitch. His absence in their most recent outing against the Netherlands was evident, resulting in a 0-0 stalemate this past Friday, with the likes of Antoine Griezmann failing to capitalize on numerous occasions. Currently second in Group D with four points, Les Bleus’ attention will now shift to their last group encounter against Poland this Tuesday in Dortmund, knowing that progression and a favourable draw in the next round are yet to be decided.
Group D stragglers, Poland, have had a difficult campaign in Germany. Yet to register a point from their first two matches, the Eagles are facing yet another group stage exit, having also failed to progress in the previous edition. Considering their challenging qualifying campaign leading up to the tournament, it should not come as much of a surprise to see them languishing at the bottom. This Tuesday, the Polish will take on one of the more fancied teams in the tournament, a daunting task given how results have transpired to date. With zero points and a goal difference of minus three, the Eagles will have no choice but to adopt a more positive approach, knowing that anything less than three points won’t suffice, and even that might not be enough to see them progress further than the group stages for only the second time in their history in this competition.
Head-to-Head
These two sides have met 17 times, with France dominating the record with 9 wins, 5 draws, and 3 defeats. Their most recent encounter resulted in a 3-1 win France at the FIFA World Cup back in December 2022.
Betting
France 3/10
Draw 9/2
Poland 9/1
Prediction
Anything less than a comfortable win for France would be surprising, considering Poland’s performance in this tournament. The French team should have far too much quality on the day, and I expect Didier Deschamps team to win by 2 goals or more.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, France -1.5 at 17/20
DENMARK v SERBIA – Click here to bet
Second-placed Denmark will take on Serbia in Munich this Tuesday, knowing that their fate going into the next round is yet to be decided. Coming off an impressive 1-1 draw against pre-tournament favourites England, the Danes are aware that there is plenty of work to do to secure their place in the round of 16. Having registered two points from back-to-back draws so far, Group C is shaping up to be an intriguing battle, with Slovenia breathing down their necks with the same number of points, and Tuesday’s opponents, Serbia, just one point adrift.
Although Serbia is currently languishing in fourth place at the bottom of the group, the competitive nature of Group C means they can still potentially progress beyond the group stages with a win over the Danes this Tuesday. After starting their campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat against England, they responded positively by securing a late stoppage-time equalizer against Slovenia on match day 2, earning a crucial point that keeps them in contention if they achieve the desired result against Denmark.
Head-to-Head
These two sides have met three times in total, with Denmark winning all three matches. Their most recent encounter resulted in a 3-0 victory for Denmark in an international friendly back in March 2022.
Betting
Denmark 5/4
Draw 26/10
Serbia 22/10
Prediction
I believe Denmark are superb value to secure all three points and clinch their place in the round of 16. Not to be bullied, the Danes went toe-to-toe with the English in the previous round and will want to follow that up with another impressive performance. Boasting a 100% winning record against Serbia, I think the Danes can continue that trend this coming Tuesday.
Suggested Bet: Full Time Result, Denmark to win at 5/4
ENGLAND v SLOVENIA – Click here to bet
Group C leaders England will look to confirm their place in the round of 16 this Tuesday when they take on Slovenia at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne. Having underperformed by their standards thus far, Gareth Southgate will be hoping the Three Lions can finally deliver a complete performance as the group stages come to a close. Coming off a disappointing 1-1 draw against Denmark, England enter match day 3 at the top of their group with four points, averaging a modest one goal per game this tournament. Facing one of the lower-ranked teams in the tournament this Tuesday offers the English an opportunity to impress, knowing that topping their group with a dominant win will give them much-needed momentum heading into the knockout stages.
Slovenia enters the last round of the group stages currently unbeaten in Group C, having registered back-to-back draws. The Reprezentanca can count themselves rather unfortunate, though, having come perilously close to securing all three points in their recent outing against Serbia, only to concede a late equalizer deep into added time, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Currently 3rd in their group with 2 points, Slovenia’s fate now relies on their last group encounter against pre-tournament favourites England. They know that anything less than a win will prevent them from securing a place in the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time in their history.
Head-to-Head
These two sides have met six times in total, with England dominating with 5 wins and 1 draw. Their most recent encounter resulted in a 1-0 victory for England in a FIFA World Cup qualifier back in October 2017.
Betting
England 37/100
Draw 4/1
Slovenia 17/2
Prediction
Despite England’s dominant record against Slovenia, the Three Lions have only won by two goals or more against Tuesday’s opponents once. With England yet to impress in this tournament, it’s unlikely they will exceed that margin. I expect England to secure the win they need to progress to the knockout stages, but I’m not anticipating a champagne performance in Cologne.
Suggested Bet: Winning Margin, England by 1 at 5/2
