We take a look at two Premier League encounters taking place this Thursday, where we suggest a bet in each of them.
With three teams still firmly embedded in the title race, let’s examine the Outright Betting for the English Premier League. Liverpool are currently 12/10 favourites to lift the trophy come the end of the season, with Man City offered at 2/1 to defend their title, followed by Arsenal at 11/4. The rest are priced at 500/1 or better.

LIVERPOOL v SHEFFIELD UNITED – Click here to bet
Premier League leaders Liverpool head into Thursday’s clash in excellent form. Their 2-1 win over Brighton on Easter Sunday propelled the Reds to the top of the table, while title contenders City and Arsenal essentially cleared their path by drawing 0-0 over the weekend. With twenty wins, seven draws and two losses, Liverpool appear poised to claim more silverware this season, especially considering their favourable fixture list. At home, Liverpool have been untouchable, boasting the best record in the league with twelve wins and three draws from their fifteen EPL encounters at Anfield.
The Reds have averaged 2.66 goals per game this season at home, with over 2.5 goals arriving in 73.3% of those encounters (11 out of 15)
Sheffield United will visit Anfield this Thursday with a daunting task ahead if they are to salvage their dismal campaign thus far. Despite securing a point in their most recent Premier League game against Fulham, the Blades seem destined for relegation. Currently occupying the bottom spot on the table with just fifteen points, things certainly look grim for Chris Wilder and his squad. Their away form offers little solace, with just one win, three draws and ten losses – the worst record in the league.
The Blades have averaged 0.85 goals per game this season on the road, with over 2.5 goals arriving in 57.1% of those encounters (8 out of 14)
Head to Head
Liverpool won 2-0 in the reverse fixture this season at Bramall Lane.
Verdict
Liverpool will aim to extend their unbeaten run as they continue their push for the Premier League title. Considering their favourable record against the Blades, superb home form and Sheffield United’s overall poor performance, a comfortable win appears to be the likely outcome here.

CHELSEA v MANCHESTER UNITED– Click here to bet
Chelsea will host Manchester United this Thursday off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw against Burnley at Stamford Bridge. Currently mid table in 11th spot, The Blues have had a distinctly average campaign by their standards given the talent at their disposal. Truth be told, anything but a spot in Europe next season would be considered an epic fail given the budget that was spent going into this campaign. At home, the Blues have not been as imposing as they may have wanted to be. Having registered six wins, four draws and four losses to date.
The Blues have averaged 1.78 goals per game this season at home, with over 2.5 goals arriving in 57.1% of those encounters (8 out of 14)
Manchester United’s hopes for European football next season suffered a setback after their lacklustre performance against Brentford this past weekend. Despite taking the lead in the 96th minute, the Red Devils seemed poised for a victory. However, Brentford had other plans, equalizing with a goal in the 99th minute, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Currently positioned 6th on the table and now 8 points adrift of Europa League qualification, United face an uphill battle with only nine games remaining. Away from home, the Red Devils have managed seven wins, two draws and six losses thus far.
The Red Devils have averaged 1.26 goals per game this season on the road, with over 2.5 goals arriving in 53.3% of those encounters (8 out of 15)
Head to Head
Manchester United won 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier this season with these two finishing all square with a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season.
Verdict
There appears to be a recurring pattern when these two teams face each other at Stamford Bridge, evident in recent matchups. Their last three encounters have all ended in draws and considering both teams’ recent performances, they may once again nullify each other’s efforts come the final whistle.
