WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS v MANCHESTER CITY – Click here to bet
Languishing at the bottom of the table with just one point, Wolverhampton Wanderers face a daunting challenge this Sunday as they welcome reigning champions Manchester City to Molineux Stadium. Still in search of their first win of the season, Wolves head into the match after a 5-3 defeat at Brentford, marking their fifth straight loss across all competitions. While returning to home turf might offer some hope, their form at Molineux has been far from reassuring. They have yet to secure a point at home, conceding a worrying 10 goals in just three matches. With an overall goal difference of minus 12 this season, Gary O’Neil’s side will likely need to focus on limiting the damage as they hope for an unlikely result against a dominant Manchester City side.
This Sunday, Manchester City will travel to the West Midlands, aiming to take advantage of a rather fragile-looking Wolves side. The Citizens currently occupy 2nd place with 17 points and are yet to taste defeat this season. Having secured 5 wins and 2 draws so far, Pep Guardiola’s team enters Sunday’s clash off the back of a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Etihad Stadium against Fulham. However, despite this recent success, City will be wary of any complacency, knowing that the hosts will be hurting at present and will be desperate to turn their season around. On the road, the Citizens have been very consistent, having registered 2 wins and a draw to date. Defensively, City have looked somewhat vulnerable this season—an area Wolves could potentially exploit, given that the Citizens have managed to keep just one clean sheet on the domestic front thus far. They will certainly look to tighten up in defence as they attempt to secure their second consecutive league win this weekend, as well as their third overall in all competitions.
Head-to-Head
Last season, Wolverhampton secured all three points in this fixture with a 2-1 victory, while Manchester City dominated the reverse encounter, winning 5-1.
Betting
Wolverhampton Wanderers 7/1
Draw 5/1
Manchester City 1/3
Prediction
The Citizens enter this weekend as resounding favourites at 1/3 and should walk away with all three points, given how the season has transpired. That said, due to their rather uncharacteristic form at the back, Wolves can certainly trouble the visitors by getting on the score sheet—something they have managed to do in their last six consecutive league appearances.
Suggested Bet: Result And Both Teams to Score, Manchester City and Yes at 31/20
LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA– Click here to bet
Liverpool, the current Premier League leaders, host Chelsea at Anfield this weekend in what promises to be a highly anticipated clash between two of the EPL’s heavyweights. Despite initial doubts following Jürgen Klopp’s departure, the Reds have thrived under new manager Arne Slot, enjoying an impressive start to the season with six wins from their opening seven league matches. Liverpool come into Sunday’s fixture on the back of a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace, their sixth consecutive win across all competitions and their second consecutive clean sheet. Aside from a minor setback against Nottingham Forest earlier in the campaign, Liverpool have amassed 18 points from a possible 21, scoring 13 goals while conceding just two in the Premier League.
Though not as dominant as Liverpool, Chelsea have made a strong start to their campaign heading into Sunday’s pivotal clash. The Blues currently sit fourth in the Premier League with 14 points, having secured four wins, two draws, and just one defeat so far. Under Enzo Maresca’s leadership, Chelsea have been particularly impressive in attack, scoring 16 goals in their first seven matches. Their momentum was slightly disrupted by a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest before the international break, which ended a five-match winning streak. However, Chelsea remain unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions. They have also been formidable on the road this season, securing maximum points from all three away fixtures and scoring an impressive 10 goals, averaging 3.33 goals per game in the process.
Head-to-Head
Last season, Liverpool claimed a commanding 4-1 victory in this fixture at Anfield. However, when the sides met in the reverse encounter, both had to settle for a point, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
Betting
Liverpool 13/20
Draw 7/2
Chelsea 15/4
Prediction
Despite last season’s emphatic result in favour of Liverpool, this fixture has historically been much closer. Given how impressive both teams have been this season, it’s unlikely to be as one-sided this time around. While Liverpool rightfully enter as favourites, priced at 13/20, the value seems to lie in backing the hosts to avoid defeat with both teams finding the back of the net, considering Chelsea’s strong attacking form.
Suggested Bet: Double Chance And Both Teams to Score, Liverpool/Draw and yes at 8/10
