This Saturday, three key Premier League clashes promise plenty of intrigue and drama. Tottenham host Manchester United in an early London showdown, both sides seeking a return to winning ways after contrasting recent form. Sunderland aim to maintain their unbeaten home streak when they welcome in-form Arsenal to the Stadium of Light, while Chelsea look to bounce back at Stamford Bridge against a struggling Wolves side. Here are my thoughts along with suggested bets for each.
Ahead of this weekend’s action, the Premier League outright market sees Arsenal holding firm as clear favourites at 11/25, with Manchester City their nearest challengers at 9/2. Defending champions Liverpool are priced at 13/2, while Chelsea remain outsiders at 33/1. The rest of the field is available at 40/1 or higher.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v MANCHESTER UNITED – Click here to bet
Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off sees Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with both sides level on 17 points and aiming to close in on the top four. Spurs’ bright start has lost momentum in recent weeks under Thomas Frank, while Rúben Amorim’s United arrive in London in better form and quietly building confidence.
Tottenham enter the weekend sitting sixth in the table on 17 points, but recent form, particularly on the domestic front will be a cause for concern. The Lilywhites may have won 4-0 midweek in Europe against FC Copenhagen but have struggled of late closer to home where they have collected just three points from their previous three league matches. A 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea last time out added to growing frustration for Thomas Frank, whose side have now lost consecutive home league games and taken only one point from the last nine points available at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Goals have been hard to come by too, with just five scored and five conceded in the EPL at home this season.
Manchester United, by contrast, appear to be turning a corner under Rúben Amorim. The Red Devils extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest over the weekend, taking ten points from a possible twelve in that stretch. They’ve also steadied their away form, following up a run of three straight defeats on the road with a win and a draw from their last two trips, collecting four of a possible six points.
Head-to-Head
Tottenham have had the upper hand in this fixture of late, winning each of the last four meetings between the sides in all competitions, including last season’s Europa League Final. Spurs have also enjoyed home success against the Red Devils, unbeaten in their last four at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (W3, D1).
Betting
Tottenham Hotspur 9/5
Draw 5/2
Manchester United 29/20
Verdict
This has the makings of an entertaining clash between two sides full of attacking intent but still showing defensive flaws. Tottenham’s home form remains a concern, while United’s growing confidence under Amorim makes them a real threat on the break. With both teams likely to create chances and neither completely secure at the back, goals look the smart play.
Suggested Bet: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals at 93/100
SUNDERLAND v ARSENAL – Click here to bet
Saturday evening’s early Premier League kickoff at the Stadium of Light sees Sunderland host leaders Arsenal, with the Black Cats looking to maintain their strong home form against one of the division’s most in-form sides. Régis Le Bris’ men have been difficult to break down this season and will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run at home to five matches.
Sunderland enter the weekend sitting fourth on 18 points, having drawn 1-1 with Everton in their most recent league outing. The Black Cats have lost just once in their last eight appearances, with six of those matches featuring two goals or fewer, highlighting their defensive solidity. At home, Sunderland have taken eleven points from a possible fifteen across five games (W3 D2), scoring in every fixture while conceding just three. Confidence is high in the north-east at present, but they face a tough challenge against a quality Arsenal side who are currently unbeaten in thirteen across all competitions.
Arsenal, meanwhile, arrive on the back of a clinical 3-0 midweek victory away to Slavia Prague in Europe and a 2-0 league win at Burnley. Mikel Arteta’s Gunners top the table on 25 points and are on a remarkable run, winning ten consecutive matches with the last eight all “win to nil” results. Away from home, Arsenal have also been imperious, winning their last three of their last league fixtures on the road, conceding just twice. Their potent attack and defensive discipline make them heavy favourites heading into the north-east.
Head-to-Head
These sides last met in the Premier League in 2016/17, when Arsenal claimed a league double, winning 4-1 at Sunderland before following up with a 2-0 win at the Emirates. Their most recent clash was in the League Cup four years ago, with Arsenal running out 5-1 winners.
Betting
Sunderland 7/1
Draw 15/4
Arsenal 2/5
Verdict
Sunderland have been strong at home, but Arsenal’s form right now is tough to look past. Arteta’s side are defending superbly and finding goals with ease, making them an incredibly difficult team to break down. The hosts should make a fist of it, but Arsenal look well placed to take all three points, and could easily extend their win-to-nil streak to nine this weekend.
Suggested Bet: Arsenal to Win to Nil at 49/50
CHELSEA v WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – Click here to bet
Saturday’s late Premier League kickoff at Stamford Bridge sees Chelsea return home for the first time since their slip-up against Sunderland late last month. Enzo Maresca’s men have been in solid form in recent weeks, particularly on the road, and will be keen to make a statement in front of their home fans against a struggling Wolves outfit.
Chelsea come into the weekend sitting seventh in the table on 17 points, having won their last league outing 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur, backing that up with a 2-2 midweek draw against Qarabag in the Champions League. The Blues have been generally consistent this season, losing just once in their last eight matches while winning six. Their home form, however, has changed recently, the defeat to Sunderland ended a three-match winning streak at Stamford Bridge in all competitions. Maresca will hope his side can regain their winning rhythm in front of the home crowd and take advantage of Wolves’ current struggles.
Wolves, by contrast, remain rooted at the bottom of the Premier League on two points, having lost 3-0 away to Fulham last weekend. The club is currently caretaker-run following Vitor Pereira’s departure, with Under-21 coach James Collins and Under-18 boss Richard Walker in temporary charge. Wolves have struggled on the road, scoring just once in five league away games while conceding eight, and arrive in West London on a four-game losing streak overall. With attacking woes continuing and confidence low, Saturday’s trip to Stamford Bridge represents a stern test for the visitors.
Head-to-Head
Chelsea have dominated recent encounters with Wolves, winning the last three meetings, including a 4-3 victory in the League Cup last month. League-wise, Chelsea completed a double over Wolves last season, winning 3-1 at Stamford Bridge and 6-2 in the reverse fixture. At home, the Blues have lost just once in their last twelve league meetings against Wolves.
Betting
Chelsea 2/5
Draw 4/1
Wolverhampton Wanderers 25/4
Verdict
Chelsea have the quality and momentum to bounce back strongly after their recent hiccup at home against Sunderland, while Wolves’ attacking struggles and off-field uncertainty make them vulnerable. Stamford Bridge should once again prove a tough venue for visitors, and Chelsea look well-placed to regain confidence with a comfortable victory.
Suggested Bet: Chelsea to Win & Over 1.5 Goals at 63/100
