We take a look at 4 of the English Premier League matches taking place on Saturday and suggest a bet in each game.
A reminder that the long-term English Premier League markets get updated daily and Manchester City are currently trading as the 4/6 favourites. There are plenty of other markets such as Top 4, to Finish Bottom and to be relegated and you can click here for the latest Outright Betting Markets
Everton v Tottenham – Click here to bet
This should be a cracking game to get the weekend going with 18th placed Everton at home to 4th placed Tottenham.
Everton have been docked 10 points earlier in the season, but their recent form isn’t helping them in their fight to avoid relegation and they haven’t won in their last 5 matches, losing 3 and drawing 2.
Their last 2 games have been goalless draws, away at Fulham and at home to Aston Villa and they haven’t scored in 3 matches.
Tottenham are 4th on the log and are coming off a 3-2 home win over Brentford. They have only lost once in their last 7 matches. Goals have been flowing in Tottenham games and their last 4 fixtures would all have delivered profits for over 3.5 goal backers.
Tottenham won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Everton earlier this season.
Tottenham are favourites for this one at 27/20, but given how high scoring their games have been, I can’t resist the over 3.5 goals at 31/20 and hopefully the Everton attack can find their teeth as well.
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 31/20
Newcastle United v Luton Town – Click here to bet
Newcastle broke a 4 match losing streak when they beat Aston Villa 3-1 on the road in midweek. Goals have been flowing in Newcastle matches and over 2.5 goal backers would have collected in 7 of their last 8, while their last 4 games have all had 4 goals or more in them.
Luton are one of the form teams in the League at the moment and would sit 4th on the table were it run over the last 5 games. They have climbed out of the relegation zone and sit 17th with 3 wins in their last 5 matches. Their most recent outing was a convincing 4-0 home win over Brighton, a game where Brighton started 8/10 favourites.
Luton won the reverse fixture at home by 1 nil.
Newcastle are the 4/9 favourites for the win with Luton outsiders at 6/1, but once again I am looking to the goals market. Stats could really bite you in this game, but all indications are that we will get plenty of goals and I am betting we get 4 or more.
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 11/8
Brighton v Crystal Palace – Click here to bet
Brighton are sliding down the table having won only 1 of their last 7 matches. They were hammered 4-0 at Luton last time out and earlier in the season had a run of 16 matches during which they scored in each one of them. They have now gone 3 games without scoring a goal.
Crystal Palace are 14th on the log having won 2 of their last 3 matches, but only 2 of their last 10. Last time out they beat Sheffield United 3-2 at home and both teams would have found the back of the net in 9 of their last 10 matches and over 3.5 goal backers would have collected profits in their last 3.
These sides played to a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace earlier in the season and in a somewhat surprising stats, 4 of their last 5 games have finished 1-1 and all 5 games have had 2 goals or less in them.
Brighton are 7/10 to win the game, but I don’t have a strong feel either way in the outright result market. You could make a case on a low scoring or a high scoring match and given Crystal Palace’s recent record I am going to have another go at 4 goals or more in the match.
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 18/10

Sheffield United v Aston Villa – Click here to bet
Sheffield United are bottom of the table with just 2 wins in 22 matches. They have only taken 2 points from the last 18 they have played for and lost 3-2 away to Crystal Palace last time out. 3 of their last 4 matches have seen 4 goals or more scored.
Aston Villa are 5th on the log and going through a wobbly patch with just 1 win in their last 5 games. They were 9/10 shots to see off Newcastle at home in midweek, but lost 3-1 and their last away game was a goalless draw against Everton. Both teams have found the back of the net in 5 of Villa’s last 6 matches.
These sides drew 1-1 at Villa earlier in the season and despite being on the road, Villa are the 5/8 favourites to take out the win. Sheffield United have been conceding goals, but also scoring and I am going to take both teams to score at 7/10.
Suggested bet: Both teams to score, yes, at 7/10
