Week 24 of the Premier League commences this weekend and despite the roster not offering too much in the way of big match-ups. A few surprises may just be on the cards….Let’s tuck in!
The usual suspects find themselves embroiled at the top for Premiership glory in terms of outright betting. No surprises with Manchester City leading the charge at 4/7, whilst 2nd favourite Liverpool currently on offer at 95/40. Arsenal at 13/2 looks an interesting price whilst the remaining teams can be taken at 60/1 or better.

Manchester City v Everton – Click here to bet
City currently occupy 2nd spot on the log but it must be mentioned that they do have a game in hand. The Citizens come into this clash with plenty of momentum on their side knowing that they’ve managed to obtain an impressive 19 points from 21 in their last 7 Premier League encounters. (6 wins and 1 draw) Their impressive goal scoring tally continues to flow as we witnessed yet another dominant display against Brentford. Despite going behind relatively early on, a Phil Foden hat-trick put the game to bed with an impressive 3-1 victory on the road.
Everton are 18th on the table, however this is somewhat misleading given that the Toffees were deducted a further 10 points recently. They showed great spirit and tenacity in their recent clash against Spurs. Having trailed twice in the game, the Toffees managed to fight it out for a well earned 2-2 draw. They will take heart from the fact that they have now gone unbeaten in their last 3 domestic league clashes with 3 draws in a row.
Despite recent results, it’s hard to make a case for Everton here. Having already lost 3-1 to Manchester City at Goodison Park this season, along with a very poor head to head record against City, I feel a similar scoreline could be on the cards here.

Liverpool v Burnley – Click here to bet
Liverpool are currently 1st on the log but looked anything but title contenders after their recent outing against Arsenal. It was undoubtedly one of their worst performances this season and losing 3-1 to one of their main title competitors would have been a very bitter pill to swallow. Prior to that though, they have been in scintillating form. Having found the net 13 times in their last 4 Premier League outings with 4 wins from their last 5 on the domestic front. It certainly places them in good stead in terms of recovering from their recent shock result.
Burnley currently occupy 19th spot on the log and seem to be in desperate trouble. Despite a 2-2 draw at home to Fulham in their most recent outing, it just feels like it’s not enough should they want to make a realistic challenge of getting out of the relegation zone. They have shown a lot of heart this season but unfortunately, it’s the end product that has hampered them time after time. 3 losses and 2 draws in their last 5 Premier League is simply not good enough.
Liverpool will be hurting after their recent loss to Arsenal , not an ideal time for Burnley to face them. The reverse fixture saw the Reds win 2-0 this season and I’m expecting a clinical performance from the hosts to get their campaign back on track.
Suggested Bet: Winning margin, Liverpool by 3+ at 1/1
Tottenham v Brighton – Click here to bet
Tottenham are currently 5th on the log and have been surprisingly consistent this season! Despite losing one of their most prized assets to the Bundesliga, the team have rallied together extremely well with Richarlson leading from the front in fine fashion. Their most recent excursion saw Everton steal a point in the dying minutes after what looked like a 2-1 victory to Tottenham. They will have to keep their wits about them here knowing that they have already lost 4-2 to Brighton in an epic encounter already this season. Spurs go into this clash with 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 4 Premier league encounters and boast 8 wins from 11 at home this season.
Brighton find themselves 8th on the log and have been a joy to watch throughout their campaign. The Seagulls have been involved in quite a few high scoring clashes and all I can say is long may it continue! Having registered 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5 games, it is worth noting that in each of those victories, we have been blessed with witnessing Brighton finding the net at least 4 times on each occasion. Their recent 4-1 drubbing of Palace just shows how clinical they have become, both up front as well as at the back.
As mentioned earlier, these two sides have met already this season. It was a six goal thriller which ultimately saw Brighton 4-2 victors. Given how both teams tend to set themselves up, goals should be on the cards here. I do however feel that value could be with Tottenham given they will have a score to settle here
Suggested Bet: Result and both teams to score, Tottenham Hotspur and Yes at 18/10
Nottingham Forest v Newcastle United – Click here to bet
Forest come into this fixture currently 16th on the log and just 2 points shy from getting dragged back into the relegation zone. Recent results have not been favourable with 2 losses and 1 draw in their last 3 Premier League fixtures. Their ability to find the net is usually met by the same from their opposition and that is where the issues lie with them, it’s their defence or should I say lack thereof that get’s them into trouble. They have far from disgraced themselves but in order to survive this campaign, they are going to have to find a way to tighten up at the back.
Newcastle are 9th on the table at the moment and it’s safe to say they have not quite reached the same heights as to what they achieved last season. A combination of rotten luck and a grocery list of injuries have plagued the Magpies. Despite finding the net 4 times against Luton in their most recent game, they were astonishingly held to a 4-4 draw in that game. Eddie Howe’s boys seem to have fallen off the proverbial bandwagon and dare I say, seem to be burnt out to a certain extent. They also go into this game knowing that Nottingham Forest have a rare opportunity of doing the double against Newcastle United, having already beaten them 3-1 in the reverse fixture.
Steering clear of an outright win given the current form of both sides may be a wise idea instead a play on the exotics may be the way to go here.
Suggested Bet: Totals and Both teams to score, Over 2.5 and Yes at 8/10
