The Carling Knockout Cup continues this weekend with quarterfinal fixtures set for both Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of November. We preview each match from a betting angle.
The Carling Cup Knockout is for PSL teams only and while in its 2nd year fans will also remember this as the Telkom Knockout Cup.
Richards Bay FC vs Cape Town City FC – click here to bet
Richards Bay booked their spot in the last 8 with a 1-0 home win over Sekhukhune United. Their most recent action was in the PSL when they lost 2-0 to the same Sekhukhune on the road.
Cape Town City played their round of 16 match against Royal AM on home turf, winning 3-0. Their latest clash was against Mamelodi Sundowns in the league in an away game which saw City lose 3-0.
Head-to-Head
These sides met twice in last season of the Premiership, where Cape Town City won 3-1 on both occasions.
I think Cape Town City can put the Sundowns defeat behind them and get the win.
Suggested Bet: Cape Town City Win at 2.65
Kaizer Chiefs vs Mamelodi Sundowns – click here to bet
Kaizer Chiefs put up a dominant display against SuperSport United away from home to win 4-0 and avoid being eliminated in round one of the Knockout Cup. Their latest encounter was a Premiership clash against Magesi where the match was drawn 2-2 on Magesi soil.
Mamelodi Sundowns cruised through to the final 8 of the tournament after a massive 5-0 win over Golden Arrows 2 weeks ago. They played their last game in the league against Cape Town City who they dismantled 3-0 at home.
Head-to-Head
The last two times these sides have met have both been in the league, with the first game at the end of last season resulting in a 5-1 Sundowns win away from home. Their latest encounter saw Sundowns win 2-1 on the road just over a month back.
Sundowns look very tempting at the price.
Suggested Bet: Mamelodi Sundowns Win at 2.60

TS Galaxy vs Magesi FC – click here to bet
TS Galaxy clinched a 1-0 home win over Chippa United to win their round of 16 match. Their most recent action in the Premiership concluded in a 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates on home soil.
Magesi pulled off a major upset to make it into the top 8 teams when they beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 in front of opposing fans. They performed well in their last league match at home, drawing 2-2 with Kaizer Chiefs.
Head-to-Head
These sides are yet to meet head-to-head and only Sunday’s result will tell who gets bragging rights.
I think it will be Magesi as TS Galaxy look to be really struggling.
Suggested Bet: Magesi Win at 2.60
Marumo Gallants FC vs Stellenbosch FC – click here to bet
Marumo Gallants overcame the betting odds against Polokwane City with a 3-2 win to move them into the round of 8 knockout stage. Their last clash in the Premiership was against Stellenbosch away from home, when they lost 1-0.
Stellenbosch fought hard to stay in the competition in round 1 when they met with AmaZulu and won the game 2-1. Their last game was a 1-0 win against Marumo Gallants as mentioned above.
Head-to-Head
Prior to their meeting just a few days ago in the Premiership, these sides met twice in the 22/23 league, where the first match was drawn 0-0 and the second match was drawn 1-1.
This should be another close one and I fancy the 90 minute draw.
Suggested Bet: Draw at 3.00
Note that closer to kick off there will be more markets like total goals available.
