Lions v Stormers – Click here to bet
The Lions are coming off the back of a 22-37 defeat to the Bulls at home 2 weeks ago. They have now only won two of their last five matches after getting off to a strong start to the season and are down in 13th place on the log.
The Stormers are also coming off the back of a 32-33 loss to the Bulls last weekend in Cape Town. This was their third loss in a row in all competitions and they sit 12th on the log 3 points ahead of the Lions.
Head-to-Head
The Stormers have won their last six matches against the Lions, three times at home and three away from home. The last time they met in Joburg was at the end of 2023 where the Stormers won a thriller 35-33.
Betting and Verdict
The Lions are favorites to win the match and are trading at 1.50 while the Stormers are trading at 3.00, the draw is currently at 23.00.
The Stormers may be on a worse losing streak than the Lions, however, their performance against the Bulls last weekend showed what they are capable of, only losing the match by one point against a very strong Bulls side. I think if they can bring that mentality to this weekend’s match, they should be able to beat the Lions and continue their recent domination of this fixture.
Handicap: Stormers [+4.5]
BET: Stormers to win at 3.00
Vodacom Bulls v Sharks – Click here to bet
The Bulls are coming off the back of a narrow win against the Stormers last weekend, winning the match 32-33 on the road. They have now won three matches in a row, finding some good form and justifying their position as 2nd favourites behind Leinster. The Bulls are currently 3rd on the log.
The Sharks most recent match was against Cardiff where they won the match 22-42 away from home two weeks ago. They have only won two of their last five matches which includes a win over the Bulls in Durban at the end of last year. They are 4th on the URC log on 29 points.
Head-to-Head
Over the last five encounters between the two sides, the Sharks and the Bulls have both won twice with the other match ending in a draw. The last 2 meetings at Loftus have seen the Bulls win by 34 points exactly.
Betting and Verdict
The Bulls are favorites to win the match and are trading at 1.25 while the Sharks are trading at 4.75. The draw is currently at 29.00.
The Bulls have been on a solid run of form since their loss to the Northampton Saints at the end of last year and they should be too strong for a Sharks team missing some of their big names.
Handicap: Bulls [-9.5] at 1.90
BET: Handicap, Bulls [-9.5] at 1.90.
