The URC returns this weekend after a short break with Italian side Zebre hosting Edinburgh while Munster travel to Wales to play the Scarlets.
Irish giants Leinster are still the favourite to win the URC at 4/7. Defending champions Munster, along with the Blue Bulls, are second favourites, trading at 7/1 while last year’s runners-up, the Stormers, are close behind at 17/2.

Zebre v Edinburgh – Click here to bet
Zebre currently sits 14th on the table. They have only managed to win 1 of their first 9 matches this season and their only win came against bottom-table sitters, the Sharks, in November last year. They have won 2 of their last 5 matches in all competitions, both in the EPCR where they finished 4th in their pool.
Edinburgh are sitting 6th on the table and will look for nothing less than a win on Friday night. They have won 6 of their 9 matches in the URC this season but have lost 3 of their last 5 matches with 2 defeats coming against Scottish rivals, Glasgow Warriors and a very impressive Benetton.
The last time the two clubs met in the URC, Edinburgh came out on top, winning 24-17 at home. Both clubs will be missing big players due to the ongoing 6 Nations and will have to rely on the depth of their squads.
The bookies have Edinburgh as favourites to win at 1/5 while Zebre is trading at 9/2 and the handicap at the time of writing is Zebre +11.5.
Edinburgh should win this but Zebre won’t be a pushover at home.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Zebre +11.5 at 17/20
Scarlets v Munster – Click here to bet
Scarlets have not had a strong start to the season. They have only won 2 of their first 9 matches and sit 13th on the table. They have the second-worst points difference in the competition at -162. Their recent run of form has also been disappointing, losing their last 6 matches in all competitions.
The defending champions, Munster have struggled this first half of the season. They currently sit 11th on the table, only winning 4 of their first 9 matches. Their recent form has also not been impressive, with only 1 win in their last 5 matches. They will be hoping that the short rest will allow them to bounce back and put in a strong run of performances.
The last time the two clubs met, the match was enthralling, ending 49-42 in favour of Munster. Both clubs will be without their international players, this should affect Munster more than the Scarlets.
Munster are favourites to win at 3/10 while the bookies have the Scarlets at 16/5 and the home team are +8.5 on the handicap.
Although Munster will be without key players, the depth of their squad should be too strong for Scarlets and I am backing them to win by 9 or more.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Munster -8.5 at 19/20
