SHARKS – (7/20 to win)
The Sharks have had a shocking start to the URC, losing 7 of their 8 matches so far. They currently sit in last position on the log with the Dragons 2 points ahead of them. After 5 losses in a row to start their campaign, the Sharks gave some hope when they took on the Dragons at Kings Park Stadium in round 6 of the competition, winning the match by 55 points.
It was not long however until the Sharks were back on the losing end of things and just a week after their first win, they were overpowered by the Bulls away from home in round 7 despite opening the scoring, with the full-time result being 44-10.
They then pushed the Stormers close at home losing by a point last weekend.
The Sharks are in desperate need of their 2nd win to keep any playoff hopes alive and they will be expecting to step up their performance against the Lions in front of their home crowd this weekend.
LIONS – (11/4 to win)
After losing 4 of their first 5 matches, the Lions have improved of late, picking up 2 comfortable wins in their last 2 matches and leaving them in 12th position on the log, 4 places ahead of the Sharks.
In round 6 the Lions took on Zebre at Ellis Park and they won the match 61-19. The Lions played their last URC match more than a month ago, on the 2nd of December, where they took on the Dragons at home in Johannesburg. Despite a red card for the Lions in the 26th minute of the game, they were too strong for the Dragons, and they managed to end the game with a bonus point victory with the final score finishing 49-24.
They were also in Challenge Cup action in December winning both matches.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Lions and the Sharks have met 4 times since the URC kicked off in 2022, with the Sharks winning all of these encounters. The average total points in these matches have been 49 points and the biggest winning margin occurred in 2 of the games with the result being 37-10 to the Sharks in both.

SUGGESTED BET: Tribet “any other result” at 16/10
I think this is going to be a tight game and I will get involved with the Tribet option where “any other result” sees you collect as long as neither team wins by 7 points or more.
