We’re shifting our focus to Friday’s crucial URC quarter-final showdown between Munster and Ospreys, where we’ll be suggesting a bet on the outcome.
To start, let’s provide a brief update on the outright markets. Leinster remains the favourite at 4/6, with Munster gaining noticeable support, now at 9/2. The Bulls have experienced a slight drift to 5/1, while the Stormers and the rest of the field can be backed at 12/1 or better

We head to Thomond Park this Friday, where the first URC quarter-final of the upcoming weekend will be decided. After a shaky start to their campaign, Munster finished the round stages convincingly, registering nine straight victories leading up to the knockout stages, bringing their overall tally to 13 wins, 1 draw, and 4 defeats. Last weekend’s 29-24 win over Ulster secured Munster a home quarter-final and, more importantly, the top spot in the standings for the regular season.
This Friday, they will host Ospreys, a team they are all too familiar with. Given their dominant record against the Welsh unit, Munster will be looking to add to that already impressive tally, aiming for their ninth consecutive home win over Ospreys in all competitions. By doing so, they will secure a crucial home semi-final for the following knockout stages.
Last weekend’s crucial 33-29 win away to Cardiff secured Ospreys place in the quarter-finals. Having finished 8th in the regular season with 10 wins and 8 losses, the Welsh club will now travel to Limerick, Ireland, hoping to end their miserable run against the formidable Munster. However, considering recent results, they certainly have their work cut out for them, having registered four victories in their last eight URC encounters overall, while losing three of their last five away games.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Ospreys have won just one of their last 12 URC matches against Munster, losing their most recent game 3-58 in February 2023. Their sole win during this period was a home game in October 2021 (18-10).
HANDICAP: Munster -14.5
VERDICT
The handicap line appears well-set, however, it’s worth noting that Munster has covered the current cap in their last seven consecutive URC home encounters against Ospreys. With Munster’s strong finish to the season and Ospreys inconsistency, I fancy taking the minus, despite this being a knockout game.
Suggested Bet: Munster, -14.5 at 10/11
