Benetton started the URC season off by narrowly beating Cardiff 22-23. Cardiff led 19-10 at half time but Benetton kept them quiet in the second half and stole the win.
They then drew 13-13 to Munster last weekend. Benetton led 13-3 at half time but Munster came back to draw in the second half with a penalty kick, then a converted try in the last minute of the match.
LIONS
Lions lost both of their first matches of this URC season. The Stormers beat them 35-33 and were leading comfortably (7-27) at half time but the Lions made a mighty comeback with 4 tries in the second half (their last try being within the final minute of the match). Unfortunately, this was not enough to take the win.
They were then beaten 17-16 by Edinburgh last weekend in a relatively tight game. Edinburgh led 7-6 at half time and the Lions actually went 2 points ahead with 20 minutes to go but could not hold the lead.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These teams last met in March in Italy where the Lions beat Benetton 28-32. Benetton led relatively comfortably at half time (21-10), but the Lions took control of the second half and took the lead with 10 minutes to spare.
