Round 5 of Super Rugby continues on Saturday the 15th of March with three fixtures taking place and we look at each game from a betting angle and offer up a bet in each for your consideration.
Let’s look at the Outright Betting before where the Chiefs remain in number one spot at 2.60. The Blues sit in second and they trade at 4.50, with Crusaders slightly behind them at a price of 5.50. The rest can be backed at 8.50 or better.

CRUSADERS vs WESTERN FORCE – Click here to bet
The Crusaders sit in 4th overall due to a points difference of +7 with 2 victories and 1 loss in their 3 matches.
They clashed with the Reds at home on Sunday last weekend in a relatively one-sided clash which went their way. The final scoreline was 43-19 for the Crusaders who started as 10 point favourites.
Western Force have been inconsistent, and they are in 7th on the log due to winning 2 and losing 2. They are level on points with the 4 teams above them, but their -24 points difference is their downfall in terms of the rankings.
They met with the Waratahs a week ago and although they fought hard, they struggled to execute and were 24 points behind when the final whistle blew.
Head-to-Head
Over the years the Crusaders have won most of their head-to-head games with the Western Force, however, their most recent encounter in April last year concluded with a 37-15 Force win at home.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Crusaders [-25.5]
Crusaders trade at 1.03 with Force at 16.00 and the draw 76.00.
Money has come for the Crusaders with the handicap -20.5 earlier in the week. It looks about right now, and I am going to wait for an in-running play and will in the interim have a bet that Will Jordan scores the 1st try.

CHIEFS vs BLUES – Click here to bet
The Chiefs remain on top of the log despite their recent loss to the Drua and they sit one point above the Waratahs with a points difference of +47.
They went head-to-head with the Fijian Drua on Saturday and despite them being 9 point favourites they took a 28-24 defeat on the road as they battled to kick on from a decent start.
The Blues have lost all form when compared to their campaign last year and as the reigning champs they have lost 3 and won just 1 of their fixtures which leaves them in 10th place with just 6 points to their name due to their win and 2 bonus points.
They hosted the Brumbies a week ago in a nail biter that saw the Brumbies triumph by a single point. The Blues lead right up until the end of the game but once again had a poor 2nd half and the final score was 21-20 to the visitors.
Head-to-Head
Across their last 5 matches the Blues hold the advantage with 3 wins, while the Chiefs have picked up 2. Their latest meeting was earlier this season where the Chiefs won 25-14 away from home and prior to that the Blues beat them 41-10 in Auckland to win the Final last year.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Chiefs [-11.5]
Chiefs sit at 1.25 with the Blues priced at 4.75 and the draw 34.00.
This looks a big handicap but with the Blues struggling I fancy the Chiefs to get back to winning ways with a big win.
BET: Handicap Chiefs -11.5 at 1.91
REDS vs WARATAHS – Click here to bet
The Reds have fallen down the table after their loss last weekend, but they are still well positioned in 5th. They have only played 3 matches so far and they have won 2 and lost 1.
They took quite a beating from the Crusaders on Sunday with a 24-point loss away from home.
The Waratahs have had a superb 2025 campaign in their opening 3 matches, winning them all and currently sitting on a points difference of +30, trailing the Chiefs in 1st by 1 point overall.
They dominated the Force at times last Saturday to pull off an impressive 34-10 victory in front of their home crowd.
Head-to-Head
The last time they met was in May 2024 where the Reds edged a tight 27-26 win in Sydney and they have won 6 of the last 7 head-to-heads.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Reds [-6.5]
The Reds are favourites at 1.45 with Waratahs at 3.10 and the draw 29.00.
The Reds look a much stronger side than last weeks match suggests and I am backing them to win this one by 7 points or more.
BET: Handicap, Reds -6.5 at 1.90
