MOANA PASIFIKA vs HIGHLANDERS – Click here to bet
Moana Pasifika are currently in 10th on the log after losses in their two opening games of the tournament. They are on 1 point with a points difference of -21.
They took on the Reds a week ago at Suncorp Stadium in a high scoring encounter but despite them putting 36 points on the board they still fell 20 points short of the Reds who won the match 56-36.
The Highlanders have had a decent start to their campaign, and they have bounced back from their loss in round 1 to win their most recent clash. This leaves them in 4th on the table with 5 points to their name.
They took to the field on Saturday where they faced off against the Blues at Forsyth Barr Stadium and despite it being a competitive, back and forth match, they were able to win by a margin of 8 points with the scoreboard reflecting 29-21. The Blues were 11 point favourites so it was an upset win for the home team.
Head-to-Head
Since 2023 these sides have met three times with the first resulting in a 45-17 win for the Highlanders in Auckland. The next match took place in February 2024 and although it was tighter it concluded with a 35-21 victory for Highlanders in Dunedin. The third and most recent clash was won 28-17 by the Highlanders away from home.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Moana Pasifika [+8.5]
Highlanders are priced at 1.37 with Moana Pasifika trading at 3.60 and the draw at 31.00.
I am expecting the trend of high scoring matches to continue and will back the Highlanders to reach the 35 point mark.

WARATAHS vs FIJIAN DRUA – Click here to bet
The Waratahs have had a solid start to their season and after a bye in round 2, they are in 6th on the log with 4 points, currently holding a points difference of +1.
Their last game was a thriller against the Highlanders in round 1 where they managed to clinch a 1-point victory in a tough battle at Allianz Stadium. The final score after multiple scoring from both sides was 37-36.
Fijian Drua have had an unlucky start to the 2025 season and although they have lost both matches, it has been by narrow margins, showing they have improved majorly. They are in 9th overall with 2 points due to bonus point losses.
They lost their 1st game at home to the Brumbies and then last weekend they gave the Hurricanes a scare on the road losing 38-34.
Head-to-Head
These teams hold a head-to-head record of 2 wins for the Waratahs and 1 for Fijian Drua in their last 3 meetings. The first match in 2023 resulted in a 46-17 beating that went the way of the Waratahs in Melbourne and the second match of the 2023 season was once again won by the Waratahs with a scoreline of 32-18 in Sydney. Their most recent fixture saw the sides tie 36 all after 80 minutes in Fiji and the Fijian Drua went on to win the match 39-36 in extra time.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Waratahs [-9.5]
Waratahs are favourites at 1.33 with Drua at 3.80 and the draw trading at 31.00.
This should be another high scoring game and I am looking for 61 points or more in total.
