HIGHLANDERS vs HURRICANES – Click here to bet
The Highlanders have had a solid start to their 2025 campaign, winning 2 and losing 1 of their fixtures which puts them in 3rd overall with solely points difference separating them from the 4 teams behind them as they are all level on points.
In Round 4 the Highlanders had a rest week and prior to that they took on Moana Pasifika and edged a 31-29 victory in Round 3 after a tense battle at the North Harbour Stadium.
The Hurricanes have had a run of poor form to start the season and after losing 3 and winning just 1 of their games they are in last position overall.
They met with Moana Pasifika last weekend and despite starting firm favourites, they fell short in the end and suffered a 40-31 defeat on the road.
Head-to-Head
The Highlanders have battled to beat the Hurricanes in recent years and the Hurricanes have won the last 7 matches on the trot. These sides clashed in June last year where the scoreline was 41-14 for the Hurricanes at home. Just a couple of months earlier than that they had given the Highlanders a battering of 47-12.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Highlanders [ -1.5]
The Highlanders are favourites to get the job done at 1.85 with Hurricanes at 2.15 and the draw 26.00.
This should be a tight game and I am betting we don’t have more than 6 points separating the sides at the final whistle.

BRUMBIES vs FIJIAN DRUA – Click here to bet
The Brumbies have had an inconsistent start to the tournament, winning 2 and losing 2 of their 4 clashes. They are in 6th place on the log with 9 points and a points difference of -13.
They encountered the Blues a week ago in a back-and-forth game which came right down to the wire and after being 11 points down at half-time, the Brumbies kept the Blues scoreless in the second-half and came back to win 21-20.
Fijian Drua had a tough start to their campaign this season and fell just a few points short in their 3 opening matches but after a huge victory on Saturday they may be turning things around.
They are in 8th on the rankings with 7 points under their belt.
They pulled off an upset win in terrible conditions against the Chiefs, who currently top the log, to finally get on the winning side of things by a small margin of 4 points, the final scoreline was 28-24 in front of a passionate home crowd.
Head-to-Head
The Brumbies have been dominant in the head-to-head with Fijian Drua, winning their last 5 meetings. The latest one was in Round 1 of the competition where the Brumbies clinched a 36-32 triumph away from home. Prior to this they met in May 2024 and the Brumbies claimed a 28-20 home win.
Betting and Verdict
Handicap: Brumbies [-12.5]
Brumbies are trading at 1.22 with Fijian Drua at 5.00 and the draw 36.00.
The handicap looks well set and I am expecting a back and forth game with 59 points or more in the match.
