Hurricanes v Rebels – Click here to bet
The Hurricanes finished top of the table after winning 12 of their 14 matches and securing one more bonus point than the Blues. They have won their last 3 matches in a row. Their most recent fixture was against the Highlanders at home last weekend where they won the match 41-14.
The Rebels manged to grab the last quarter final spot after winning 5 of their 14 matches and finishing 8th on the table. They have however been on a poor run of form, losing their last 5 matches in a row. Their last win came in April where the beat the Highlanders 47-31. Their most recent result came against Fijian Drua where they lost the match 40-19 away from home.
The group stage match between the two sides was hosted by the Hurricanes who won the match 54-28 in March.
The Hurricanes are heavy favourites to win the match, trading at 1.02 while the Rebels are trading at 21.00. The handicap at the time of writing is Hurricanes [-27.5] at 1.91. The Hurricanes home ground advantage coupled with the Rebels poor run of form should see a convincing win for the Hurricanes come Friday night.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Hurricanes [-27.5] at 1.91.
Blues v Fijian Drua – Click here to bet
The Blues spent the majority of the season at the top of the table, but because they secured one less bonus point than the Hurricanes, they finished second. They have won 12 of their 14 matches this season and will go into the quarter-finals with a huge amount of confidence. Their most recent result was a 31-17 win against the Chiefs last weekend at home.
The Fijian Drua managed to qualify for the quarter-finals by finishing 7th on the table after winning 6 of their 14 matches. They hosted the Rebels last weekend and won the match 40-19 to secure their spot. However, they have not won a match away from home this season and have the second-lowest points difference of any team in the quarter-finals.
The Blues and Fijian Drua last played each other in the first match of this year’s season, with the Blues hosting. The Blues won the game comfortably, with the match ending 34-10.
The Blues are heavy favourites to win the upcoming match and are trading at 1.02, while the Fijian Drua are trading at 19.00. The handicap at the time of writing is Blues [-25.5]. The Blues will be full of confidence going into the match as they are playing at home. They have the highest points difference on the log, while the Fijian Drua have the second lowest. This is expected to lead to a convincing win for the Blues this weekend.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Blues [-25.5] at 1.91.
Brumbies v Highlanders – Click here to bet
The Brumbies have had an impressive season so far, winning 12 of their 14 matches and finishing 3rd on the table. They have won their last six matches in a row, including a victory over the Hurricanes. Their most recent result was a 24-19 win against the Force away from home last weekend.
The Highlanders won six of their 14 matches in the pool stages to secure 6th position on the table. Their most recent result was a 41-14 loss to the Hurricanes away from home.
The group stage match between the two sides was hosted by the Highlanders, who lost 21-27 in March this year.
The Brumbies are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.16, while the Highlanders are trading at 6.50. The handicap at the time of writing is Brumbies [-13.5] at 1.90. I think people have underestimated the Brumbies and their potential, and I could see them going on to possibly win the Super Rugby this year. The Highlanders may be able to put up a fight, but it does not seem likely that they will be able to sustain it for the full eighty minutes.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Brumbies [-13.5] at 1.90.
