The Blues host the Brumbies and the Western Force host the Crusaders in Saturday’s Super Rugby action and we take a look at both games from a betting angle.
Heading into this round of Super Rugby action the Blues are the second favourites to win the Tournament at 9/4, the Crusaders 15/2, the Brumbies 10/1 and the Western Force are 500/1 outsiders.

Blues v Brumbies – Click here to bet
The Blues are 2nd on the table and they have won 6 and lost 1 of their 7 matches. They have won 4 in a row including hammering the Force 50-3 two weeks ago and they are coming off a bye week. They have won all 3 home matches this season, beating the Drua by 24, the Crusaders by 20 and the Force by 47 points.
The Brumbies are 3rd on the log and they have also won 6 and lost 1 of their matches. They won their last 5 in a row including beating the Waratahs 40-16 at home in their last match and like the Blues they are coming off a bye. On the road this season the Brumbies have beaten the Rebels by 27, lost to the Chiefs by 34 and then they beat the Highlanders by 6 and the Reds by a single point.
In the last 3 meetings between these sides there hasn’t been a winning margin of more than 5 points for either team.
Handicap: Blues -10.5
The highest scoring game between these sides in the last 3 matches has had 45 points. I am happy to take the unders line here which is currently 54.5.
Suggested Bet: Under 54.5 at 10/11

Western Force v Crusaders – Click here to bet
The Western Force are bottom of the log with 1 win and 6 defeats in their 7 matches. They are coming off a bye having been hammered 50-3 away to the Blues in their last match. At home this season they have lost to the Hurricanes by 30, Moana Pasifika by 8 and beaten the Reds by 9.
The Crusaders are 1 position above the Force in 11th and they have also won 1 and lost 6 of their matches. They were in action last week when they lost 43-40 to the Waratahs in overtime and they have lost all 4 of their away matches this season, going down to the Chiefs by 4, the Drua by 10, the Blues by 20 and finally that Waratahs fixture where the game finished 40-40 after 80 minutes.
The Crusaders have dominated recent matches between the sides, winning last year’s fixture by 35 points at home and winning in Perth by 38 points the year before.
Handicap: Western Force +14.5
The Force have actually turned in some strong performances this season, but they have been few and far between. They are back at home and this handicap looks pretty big against a Crusaders side that hasn’t impressed me this season.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Force +14.5 at 9/10
