The Super Round is upon us with all 6 matches taking place in Melbourne this weekend and we take a look at Friday’s two matches from a betting angle.
Let’s start with a look at the latest Outright Betting following Week 1’s action. The Chiefs are the 19/10 favourites ahead of the Crusaders at 29/10 and the Blues at 33/10, you can get 8/1 the Hurricanes, 10/1 the Brumbies and 15/1 and better the balance.

HIGHLANDERS v BLUES – Click here to bet
The Highlanders opened their campaign against Moana Pasifika at home last week and there was quite a bit of money for them and they eventually started 13 point favourites. It wasn’t the most fluent of performances, but they got the job done winning 35-21 which is pretty much exactly where the bookies were expecting it.
The Blues started 21 points favourites at home to the Fijian Drua and they also got the job done winning 34-10 in a relatively low scoring encounter.
Head-to-Head
Last season the Blues beat the Highlanders 16-9 at home and in Dunedin in the season before they hammered them 60-20.
The Blues are resting a couple of their All Blacks and I think the Highlanders can beat the handicap here.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Highlanders +12.5 at 10/11

REBELS v WESTERN FORCE – Click here to bet
The Rebels were well backed last week against the Brumbies coming in from +8.5 to +5.5. Unfortunately, they didn’t deliver on the field, only scoring 3 points and losing by 27.
The Force were also well backed on the handicap at home to the Hurricanes and the line moved from +12.5 to +10.5. It was the bookies that were smiling though as the Hurricanes ran up comfortable 44-14 victors.
Head-to-Head
The Rebels won this fixture 52-14 last season and the sides also met in Perth where the Force won 34-27.
The Rebels were disappointing last week, but with their home crowd behind them and what looks on paper at any rate a quality side, I am expecting a bounce back.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Rebels -6.5 at 19/20
