Super Rugby continues with what is known as a Super Round and takes place in Melbourne this weekend. All 6 games are taking place there and we take a look at them from a betting angle.
Let’s start with the latest Outright Betting where the Blues and Chiefs have firmed to 19/10 joint favourites after their impressive performances last week. The Crusaders are on the drift and are out to 26/10 with the Hurricanes 15/2 and the Brumbies, the first of the Australian sides, at 12/1. You can get 25/1 and better the balance.
Click here for Outright Markets including, of course, which team is going to win the Tournament outright where the Blues are 22/10 favourites
FRIDAY
Crusaders v Highlanders – Click here to bet
Crusaders started as 7/2 favourites against the Chiefs last weekend, but they were well beaten 31-10 at home.
They face a Highlanders side that took a 40 point beating at the hands of the Blues in Dunedin and looking at the betting for this game the Highlanders are in for another long evening.
Handicap: Crusaders -18.5
The handicap for this match is big at 18.5 points, but I am struggling to pick a winner there and will go for a point range bet where I am looking for either the match to finish with 56-62 points in it inclusive at 7/2
Suggested Bet: Point range 56-62 inclusive at 7/2
Rebels v Hurricanes – Click here to bet
Rebels were in control of their game away to the Force last week, but eventually went down 34-27.
They face a Hurricanes side that played the Reds in Brisbane and after battling early stretched clear to win comfortably 47-13
Handicap: Rebels +17.5
This is another game with a big handicap, but I do think the Rebels can start strongly at home and stay within the cap up until the break
Suggested Bet: First-Half Handicap, the Rebels +7.5 at 17/20

SATURDAY
Moana Pasifika v Chiefs – Click here to bet
Moana Pasifika were unlucky last week going down by 2 points to the Fijian Drua 34-36 in a high scoring encounter in Auckland.
They now face a Chiefs side who were 21 point victors over the Crusaders in Christchurch and this is the biggest handicap of the weekend with the Chiefs currently -24.5.
Handicap: Moana Pasifika +24.5
I am going to swerve the handicap once again and focus on the Total Points Market where I am looking for 60 or more in the game.
Suggested Bet: Over 59.5 points at 19/20
Fijian Drua v Waratahs – Click here to bet
The Drua got their campaign off to a winning start with that nail biting 36-34 win over Moana Pasifika on the road. Much was fancied on the Waratahs last week and they were well backed on the handicap, but they ended up going down by 6 points at home.
Handicap: Fijian Drua +6.5
I think that the bookmakers are reading too much into that Waratahs defeat and I think they can beat this Fijian Drua by 7 points or more.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Waratahs -6.5 at 17/20
SUNDAY
Blues v Brumbies – Click here to bet
The Blues were exceptional last weekend demolishing the Highlanders 60-12 on the road, but the Brumbies also put in an impressive performance winning 31-25 in Sydney against the Waratahs.
Handicap: Blues -11.5
The money has come for the Blues this week and although they meet in Australia I still don’t believe this handicap has moved out enough. The Blues should win this comfortably.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Blues -11.5 at 19/20
Western Force v Reds – Click here to bet
The Western Force did well to come back and beat the Rebels 34-27 at home last week, a game where they started 5 point favourites. They face a Reds team smarting from a 34 point home defeat to the Hurricanes. The Reds looked impressive early in the match, but failed to stay with their New Zealand visitors and they will be hoping that the return of a few key players will make a difference this week.
Handicap: Western Force +6.5
I think this is going to be a tight match and I am going to have a go at the Tri Bet which means I don’t want either side to win by 7 points or more.
Suggested Bet: Tri Bet, any other result at 29/20
