We have reached the semi-finals of the Super Rugby Pacific competition and we take a look at both games from a betting angle.
Let’s kick off with a look at the Outright Betting where the Chiefs have now firmed to 19/20 favourites. You can get more than double that price on the Crusaders who are priced at 23/10. The Blues are 4/1 and the Brumbies 10/1 underdogs.

Crusaders v Blues – Click here to bet
The Crusaders finished runner-up to the Chiefs on the table with 10 wins and 4 losses in the regular season. That gave them a home quarter-final against the Fijian Drua and they flew out of the blocks to basically put the game beyond doubt in the opening quarter. Things weren’t as smooth after that, but you cannot argue that a 49-8 final score wasn’t a comprehensive victory and they comfortably beat the handicap of 22 points.
The Blues had finished 3rd on the log and that got them a home quarter-final against the Waratahs. The Waratahs took the lead, but from that point on it was all Blues and they ended up winning 41-12 to beat the handicap which started at 18 points.
The Crusaders and the Blues met twice in the regular season with the Crusaders coming on top on both occasions. In the first game in Auckland they won 34-28 and then in a low scoring encounter in Christchurch it was the Crusaders who prevailed 15-3. In fact looking back further, the Crusaders have dominated the Blues of late winning 17 of their last 18 matches including winning last year’s Final 21-7.
Handicap: Crusaders -3.5
Despite the Crusaders great record against the Blues I think this is going to be a really tight game especially given the Crusaders injury list. I can’t pick a winner here, but I do think it is going to be close and I am going to have a go at the Tribet, Any Other Result which means we need either team to win by 6 points or less and also collect a profit on the draw.
Suggested Bet: Tribet, Any Other result at 16/10

Chiefs v Brumbies – Click here to bet
Chiefs topped the table with just 1 defeat in 14 matches and that earned them a home quarter-final against the Reds last week. They started 21 point favourites, but were always under pressure and in the end had to work hard for a 29-20 victory against the only team that has beaten them in the regular season.
The Brumbies finished 4th on the log with 10 victories and 4 defeats in their 14 matches. They hosted the Hurricanes who started very slight favourites and the game was certainly a roller coaster with points flowing for either side. In the end the Brumbies managed to put their noses in front when it mattered most winning the encounter 37-33.
These sides met in Canberra at the end of May with the Chiefs running out 31-21 victors, but the Brumbies won on the road against the Chiefs 38-28 last season and the Brumbies have actually won 3 of their last 5 matches against the Chiefs.
Handicap: Chiefs -11.5
The Chiefs have been well backed this week and I think the money is spot on and I am betting on them to win this game by 12 points or more.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Chiefs -11.5 at 19/20
