JAPAN
Japan’s last warm-up game was in Italy where they went down 42-21 and prior to that they lost by 22 points to Fiji, had a narrow win over Tonga, and a 2 point defeat to Samoa.
Japan hosted the 2019 Rugby World Cup where they achieved their best results in making the quarter-finals where they eventually went down 26-3 to South Africa.
CHILE
Chile come into this Tournament as a minnow and their warm-up results include a 26-28 loss to Namibia and a 25-26 loss to Uruguay. Chile make their debut in the Rugby World Cup.
Head-to-Head
There is no head-to-head form between these sides
Handicap: Japan -25.5
Japan haven’t managed to build on their terrific RWC 2019 showing but this ought to be a straight forward enough task against a Chile side making their debut in the finals. For a bet we look to the Match Result / Total Points market and go with Japan to win a game of 53 points or less.
Suggested Bet: Result And Totals, Japan And Under 53.5 Points at 15/20

WALES v FIJI – Click here to bet
WALES
Wales are 50/1 to win the Rugby World Cup and they will be looking to set a market down when they take on Fiji in Bordeaux. Wales last warm-up game was 52-16 defeat at home against South Africa and prior to that they played 2 matches against England going down narrowly at Twickenham 19-17 and winning 20-19 in Cardiff.
Wales best ever finish in a Rugby World Cup was back in 1987 when they came 3rd. They have made the semi-finals in two of the last three years and in 2019 they lost their semi-final 16-19 to eventual winners South Africa.
FIJI
Fiji have been hard hit by the withdrawal of their fly-half, Caleb Muntz who was unfortunately injured in training.
Their last game was a come-from-behind 30-22 win over England at Twickenham, a result that got many talking about their chances of going deep in this Tournament. The week before that they had lost by 17 points to the French in France and prior to that they had double-digit wins over Japan, Samoa, and Tonga.
Fiji have qualified for the last 6 World Cups and their best performances over the years were a quarter-final spot in 1999 and in their first ever World Cup in 1987.
Head-to-Head
Wales and Fiji have met 13 times with Wales winning 11 of those clashes, Fiji 1 (back in 2007) and there was also a draw in 2010.
Handicap: Wales -5.5
It’s not been a great year for Welsh rugby on and off the pitch and Fiji have attracted market support since the early betting became available. It’s the final match of the weekend and we go with a speculative play in the HT/FT market with Fiji to lead at the interval only for Wales to hit back in the second half to take the victory.
Suggested Bet: Halftime|Fulltime Fiji/Wales at 5/1
