The Australian leg of the HSBC SVNS takes place this weekend and promises 3 days of non-stop betting action with the tournament taking place at the HBF Park in Perth. We will look at the event from a betting angle.
Current Standings:
Argentina currently tops the 2024 Sevens log, sitting on 38 points. South Africa and Fiji are tied in the rankings, with both teams on 30 points entering this weekend’s tournament.
The first event of the season was held in Dubai on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2023, where South Africa took on Argentina in the Final, winning 12-7.
Cape Town hosted the second Tournament of the season on the 9th and 10th of December, where Argentina ran away with a dominant 45-12 win over Australia in the final.
Australia Pools
Pool A is expected to be a shootout between Argentina and South Africa for first place in the pool. With South Africa priced at 13/10 and Argentina at 6/10.
Pool B has Australia as comfortable favourites to top the pool at 5/10, with the biggest threat being Ireland at 9/4.
Pool C is set for a battle between Fiji and New Zealand, who are both priced at 27/20, but France and Samoa should not be counted out, both at 13/2 in the betting.

Suggested Bet: South Africa to top Pool A at 13/10
I believe that South Africa will be hungry after their Cape Town disappointment and that they will come out firing and can get the better of Argentina.
