After a week’s break, we return for round three of the 2025 Six Nations Championship with three matches taking place over the weekend including the Calcutta Cup between England and Scotland at Twickenham.
After France’s loss to England, Ireland are now firm favourites to win the competition and are trading at 1.45. The bookies have France trading at 4.50 while England are at 6.50.
Looking at the handicaps for this weekend the outright betting is unlikely to change much ahead of the anticipated showdown between Ireland France in Round 4 on Saturday the 8th of March.

Wales v Ireland – Click here to bet
Wales have not won a match since 2023 after losing out to Italy in round two with the match ending 22-15 to the Italians in Rome. In the opening week of the tournament they failed to trouble the scorers losing 43-0 to France in Paris.
Ireland are coming off the back of a strong win away from home against Scotland where they won the match 32-18 and in week 1 they also collected a winning bonus point beating England 27-22 in Dublin.
Head-to-head
Ireland have won four of their last five matches against Wales with Wales last beating Ireland in the 2021 Six Nations. The match between the two sides last year ended 31-7 in favour of Ireland in Dublin.
Betting and verdict
Ireland are heavy favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.03 while Wales are trading at 21.00. The draw is currently at 81.00.
The last time Ireland beat Wales by more than 24 points in Cardiff came back in 2001. Although Wales are currently experiencing their worst form in their history, Cardiff is no easy place to run away with a match and with a new coach coming in for Wales soon, there should be some strong motivation to put up a fight.
Handicap: Wales [+24.5]
Suggested bet: Handicap, Wales [+24.5] at 1.85.

England v Scotland – Click here to bet
The excitement is in the air as Scotland head to Twickenham looking to defend the Calcutta Cup.
England are coming off the back of a brilliant win against France at home in round 2 where a last-minute try saw them win the match by 1 point. In their 1st match they lost by 5 to Ireland away.
Scotland suffered a disappointing defeat to Ireland at home last time out losing by 14 points and in their opener they saw off a game Italian side 31-19 at home.
Head-to-head
England have not beaten Scotland since 2020 with Scotland winning their last four matches in the Six Nations. This includes two wins in England and two wins at home. Last year’s match between the two sides was played in Scotland and saw the match end 30-21.
Betting and verdict
England are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.30 while Scotland are trading at 4.30 for the win. The draw is currently at 29.00.
Three of the last four matches between the two sides in England have seen 52 points or more scored across the match. England’s last four matches at home has seen 51 points or more scored on every occasion. I am betting on a high scoring match.
Handicap: England [-8.5]
Suggested bet: Total points over 48.5 at 2.15.
SUNDAY
Italy v France – Click here to bet
Italy managed to finally give their home crowd something to cheer for as they beat Wales in Rome two weeks ago. In a match played in terrible conditions they ended up holding on 22-15 after a strong start.
France were hosted by England in round 2 but after numerous errors and a last minute try by England, they lost the match 26-25 to end their four-match winning streak. In round 1 they scored 43 unanswered points when hosting Wales.
Head-to-head
Italy have not beaten France in the Six Nations since 2011 but came agonisingly close last year. Italy had a late penalty to take the lead but were denied by the post and the match ended in a 13-13 draw in France.
Betting and verdict
France are heavy favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.08 while Italy are trading at 10.00. The draw is currently at 51.00.
Italy have pushed France extremely close in their last two matches, drawing one and only losing by five points in the other. Coming off the high of their round 2 win against Wales and France coming off the back of a disappointing defeat, I can see Italy taking the game much closer than some would anticipate and will take a punt on one of the alternative handicaps on offer.
Handicap: Italy [+18.5]
Suggested bet: Handicap, Italy [+16.5] at 2.10
