SATURDAY
Italy v Wales – Click here to bet
Italy put up a strong fight against Scotland last weekend in Edinburgh, but ended up losing the match 31-19. They trailed 19-0 early on but fought back to level the scores before Scotland stretched clear in the final quarter.
Wales continued their extremely poor run of form, losing 43-0 to France, away from home. This was their first time since 1998 that they failed to score a point in a Six Nations match and France comfortably beat the 26 point handicap.
Head-to-head
Italy have beaten Wales in two of their last five matches, both times away from home. The most recent result was in last year’s Six Nations where Italy won the match 21-24 in Cardiff.
Betting and Verdict
Italy are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.44 while Wales are trading at 3.25 and the draw is at 29.00.
The last time Italy beat Wales in Rome was in 2007, however, they have never had a better opportunity to produce a Six Nations win in front of their home fans. I can see them putting in a solid performance to win the match comfortably.
Handicap: Italy [-6.5]
Suggested bet: Handicap, Italy [-6.5] at 1.91
England v France – Click here to bet
England got off to a strong start against Ireland in Dublin last weekend, but lost the match at the start of the second half when they let Ireland off the hook with some poor tackling. They made a decent effort to get back into it, but at the end of the day it wasn’t enough and the match ended 27-22 to the hosts.
France had the perfect start to their campaign at home. Managing to score 43 points against Wales to secure the bonus point while not conceding a single point. This put them at the top of the log where they will look to remain for the rest of the campaign.
Head-to-head
France have won their last three matches against England while England last beat them in 2021. The most recent result was a 33-31 win for France in last years Six Nations.
Betting and Verdict
England are trading at 3.00 for the win while France are trading at 1.50 with the draw currently at 26.00 .
Both teams pride themselves on defence, with France not conceding a single point last weekend and England managing to hold Ireland to only 27 points in Dublin. I can see this match being an extremely tight one, as well as a low scoring match, with rain currently expected in Twickenham throughout Saturday.
Handicap: England (+5.5)
Suggested bet: Total points under 46.5 at 2.10.
SUNDAY
Scotland v Ireland – Click here to bet
Scotland hosted Italy last weekend and won their match 31-19 to record their third win in a row at home. If they can upset Ireland, they will have a massive shot at winning the Six Nations.
Ireland got off to a strong start last weekend as they came back from England’s early lead to win the match 27-22. Although they won the match, they will need to step up their performances if they want to win the Six Nations.
Head-to-head
Scotland have not beaten Ireland since the 2017 Six Nations, losing their last 10 matches to them. The most recent match ended 17-13 to Ireland in Dublin last year.
Betting and Verdict
Ireland are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.47 while Scotland are trading at 3.10 and the draw is at 26.00.
Taking a look at the last few results between Ireland and Scotland in the Six Nations, it is often a tightly contested low scoring match. In the last three Six Nations matches between the two sides, 31 points or less have been scored between both sides and so I see yet another low scoring match this weekend.
Handicap: Scotland [+5.5]
Suggested bet: Total points under 41.5 at 2.15.
