Italy open their year-end series with a home Test against Australia at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, and both teams arrive with plenty to prove. Below, we take a look at the match from a betting angle and wrap up with a couple of suggested bets.
Italy
Italy played three matches during their June/July window. They opened with a convincing 73–6 win over Namibia before facing South Africa in a two-Test series, losing 42–24 and 45–0. Their Six Nations campaign earlier this year was tough, with their only win coming at home to Wales.

Australia
Australia enter this fixture after a difficult outing at Twickenham last weekend, losing 25–7 to England. That result means the Wallabies have now lost four of their last five matches, with defeats to New Zealand (twice), Argentina, and England. Their only victory in that stretch came against Japan two weeks ago, winning 19–15.

Head-to-Head
The two sides last met back in 2022 where Italy hosted the match. In a tight contest Italy managed to pull off a brilliant win with the score ending 28-27. Australia had won their previous four matches against Italy.
Betting and Verdict
Australia are favourites to win and are trading at 1.22 while Italy are trading at 5.00. The draw is currently at 31.00.
Australia head into this weekend on a poor run of form, having won just one of their last four matches. Italy, meanwhile, are also coming off the back of a few defeats, but they will have taken plenty of lessons from their test against South Africa earlier this year. The Azzurri have shown before that they’re capable of causing major upsets, and they’ll be eager to do so again having done it already back in 2022.
Suggested Bet: Italy to win at 5.00.
Three of the last four meetings between these teams have produced 55 points or more, and both sides tend to concede tries. Conditions look suitable for running rugby, so another high-scoring contest may be on the cards.
Suggested Bet: Total points over 54.5 at 1.87
