FRIDAY
BLUE BULLS v GRIQUAS – Click here to bet
The undefeated Bulls are currently on top of the Currie Cup log, and they sit on 31 points, 3 points ahead of the second-place side due to them winning 6 and drawing 1 of their 7 matches.
Their last game was played against the Pumas away from home at Mbombela Stadium, where the Bulls dominated early, leading by 26 points only to let the Pumas back into the game. In the end, they were too strong winning the match 40-24.
The Griquas are in second last spot on the overall table, and they have built up 13 points losing 5 and winning just 2 games.
Their most recent encounter was against the Griffons last Sunday where they put up their best performance of the season and won the match comfortably away from home, with a scoreline of 59-7 when the final whistle sounded, comfortably beating the handicap of -16.5.
Head-to-Head
These sides met twice in last year’s Currie Cup and the Bulls came out on top on both occasions, winning 40-20 in Kimberly and 40-3 at home.
Handicap: Blue Bulls -20.5
The Griquas win last week was a good one but the Bulls are a good few weight divisions up from the Griffons and should win comfortably.
BET: Handicap, Bulls -20.5 at 17/20

SATURDAY
WESTERN PROVINCE v SHARKS – Click here to bet
Western Province have had a poor season and they have not found their form, losing 5 and winning 2 games, which places them in 6th overall on the log.
They took on the Lions at Emirates on Saturday and were well beaten on the day, losing the match 41-22.
The Sharks have recovered from a slow start and they are on the middle of the log in 4th place, since the start of the tournament they have won 3, lost 3 and drawn 1 match. They are undefeated in their last 4 matches.
The Sharks went into their game against the Cheetahs firing and they ended up beating them 25-20 on their own home turf, which allowed them to close into within 3 points of the Cheetahs on the log.
Head-to-Head
In the 2 matches played between these sides last season, the Sharks won the first encounter winning the match 20-7 at home and Western Province dominated the second game winning 44-5 in Cape Town.
Handicap: Western Province +3.5
The Sharks have turned a corner and they can beat a struggling WP side.
BET: Handicap, Sharks -3.5 at 17/20
CHEETAHS v GOLDEN LIONS – Click here to bet
The Cheetahs are in 3rd place on the Currie Cup table winning 4, losing 2 and drawing 1 match, however they have fallen 4 points behind the Lions in 2nd after their loss last weekend.
They played the Sharks at home and started favourites but were trailing on the scoreboard early and eventually lost 25-20.
The Lions are sitting comfortably in 2nd on the log, and they have been performing well throughout the competition, winning 6 and losing just 1 of their 7 matches.
They did not mess around in their game last weekend giving Western Province a 19-point hiding in Johannesburg.
Head-to-Head
These sides went 1-1 head-to-head in last year’s campaign with the Free State taking the first match 52-15 in Johannesburg and the Lions squeezing a win in Bloemfontein with a score of 33-26.
Handicap: Cheetahs +6.5
The Lions have been playing well but I am expecting a bounce back for the Cheetahs and will call a home win.
BET: Cheetahs win at 22/10
SUNDAY
GRIFFONS v PUMAS – Click here to bet
The Griffons have had a very disappointing season to date, and are last on the log, losing all 7 games played, leaving them with just 2 points to their name.
They were unable to contain a talented Griquas side when they hosted them in Welkom last weekend losing the match by 52 points when the final whistle blew.
The Pumas have had a decent season so far and they are in 5th on the table after last weekend. At this point they have won 3, lost 3 and drawn 1 game, which leaves them just 2 points behind the Sharks who occupy the final semi-final spot.
They showed serious fight in their last game to come back against the Bulls after falling 26 points behind, but they did not have enough in the tank to get the job done and they fell 16 points short.
Head-to-Head
The Pumas won both games convincingly when these side met in 2023, with the first match ending 64-6 in Welkom and the second matches final score was 45-25 I Nelspruit.
Handicap: Griffons +30.5
The Pumas will need a bonus point win to keep their playoff hopes alive and I think they will put Griquas to the sword.
BET: Handicap, Pumas -30.5 at 17/20
