FRIDAY
GOLDEN LIONS v GRIQUAS – Click here to bet
The Lions are currently top of the table with 9 points from their opening two games. They were underdogs last week in Nelspruit, but beat the Pumas 75-21 and the week before that edged the Sharks 26-25 in Durban.
Griquas got off to a poor start when they lost by 20 points to the Pumas at home, but they bounced back strongly against the Sharks coming from behind to win 34-31 in Kimberley last week.
Head-to-Head
Griquas beat the Lions 25-21 the last time they met in Kimberley and they also beat the Lions 25-18 at Ellis Park last season. Griquas have won 5 of their last 6 matches against the Lions.
Handicap: Golden Lions -14.5
BET: Lions -14.5
I have been impressed with what I have seen of this Lions team and, although Griquas showed improvement last week, I think the Lions are ready to end their horror run of losses against them.
BLUE BULLS v CHEETAHS – Click here to bet
The Bulls opened their campaign with a 30-25 win away at Western Province in Week 1 and they were too strong for the Griffons last week winning 52-10 in Welkom.
The Cheetahs have maximum points from their opening two games, hammering the Griffons by 62 points in Bloemfontein and beating Western Province by 20 points in Bloemfontein last week.
Head-to-Head
The Cheetahs have won their last 3 Currie Cup matches against the Bulls.
Handicap: Blue Bulls +5.5
BET: Bulls win at 15/8
The Bulls have named a strong side and I am quite surprised that they have been priced up as underdogs for this game although possibly their poor recent record against the Cheetahs explains this.
SHARKS v PUMAS – Click here to bet
The Sharks are bottom of Group B with two losses in their opening two games. They were edged 26-25 at home by the Lions in Week 1 and they were then stunned 34-31 on the road to the Griquas last week.
Pumas opened their campaign with a 20 point win over the Griquas away, but were well beaten last week losing 75-21 to the Lions at home
Head-to-Head
These sides met three times last season with the Sharks winning twice and the Pumas once and all three of those games were low scoring affairs with no more than 46 points in the match.
Handicap: Sharks +4.5
BET: Unders on Total Points at anything less than 52.5
The points lines are not out yet, but these sides historically have very tight fixtures and Durban does tend to produce low scoring games.

SUNDAY
GRIFFONS v WESTERN PROVINCE – Click here to bet
The Griffons have taken two bad beatings in their opening matches, losing by 62 points away to the Cheetahs and by 42 points at home to the Bulls.
Western Province have also lost their opening two games, going down by 5 points at home to the Bulls and went down 20 points to the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein when they lost 37-17.
Head-to-Head
Last season Western Province edged this fixture 25-21 and they won 47-28 in Cape Town.
Handicap: Griffons +24.5
BET: Western Province -24.5 at 19/20
Western Province have made a poor start, but they face a Griffons side that looks like they are in for a long hard season and I think they can win this comfortably.
