Exeter v Munster – Click here to bet
Exeter had an excellent start to their Champions Cup campaign with a come-from-behind 19-18 win over Toulon in France last week. They remain long shots to win the Champions Cup though and are currently priced at 40/1
Munster’s campaign got off to a disappointing start when they were held to a 17-17 draw at home to Bayonne. Munster started the match 20 point favourites, but failed to deliver the intensity required to put the French team away.
Bookmakers continue to respect Munster and they are priced at 18/1 to win the competition.
Handicap: Exeter -1.5
I was impressed with Exeter last week and I think they can win this game comfortably and I am going to back them to beat this handicap.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Exeter -1.5 at 19/20
Harlequins v Toulouse – Click here to bet
Harlequins are into 22/1 to win the Champions Cup after a brilliant come-from-behind 31-28 victory away to Racing 92 last week. It appeared midway through the second-half that Racing had done enough to get the points, but Harlequins kept coming back at them and on the back of a Marcus Smith masterclass they picked up valuable away points.
Toulouse were 27 point favourites at home to Cardiff last week and they made short work of the handicap winning by 45 points in front of their own fans. They are second favourites to win the competition at 4/1 and bookmakers are giving them a narrow edge in their trip to Harlequins.
Handicap: Harlequins +0.5
This should be a tight game and although the market isn’t priced up yet I am going to be looking at the tri bet any other score, which means any team could win by 6 points or less.
Suggested Bet: Tri Bet any other score, still to be priced up, but likely to be in the region of 15/10
Stade Francais v Leicester – Click here to bet
Stade Francais are 250/1 underdogs to win the Champions Cup after they lost 28-5 away at Sale last weekend. They started the game promisingly, but in the end Sale were too strong and it will be interesting to see if Stade Francais have the motivation to beat Leicester at home.
The Leicester Tigers are 28/1 after a home victory over the Stormers last week. They picked up the bonus point win getting up 35-26 thanks to a last minute try. Given that Leicester started 19 point favourites against a largely second string Stormers side the result was perhaps not as impressive as it looked at first glance.
Handicap: Stade Francais -10.5
I don’t see this as being a comfortable win for Stade Francais and in fact I give Leicester a strong chance of causing an upset here.
Suggested Bet: Leicester win at 3/1
