MANCHESTER CITY
Manchester City saw off RB Leipzig in their Round of 16, drawing the 1st leg 1-1 on the road, but then hammering them 7-0 at home. They were too strong for German giants, Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals winning 4-1 on aggregate on the back of a 3-0 home victory. Last week they conceded a first-half goal to Real Madrid before coming back to equalise through De Bruyne in the 67th minute.
Manchester City have all but wrapped up the English Premier League and on the weekend comfortably beat Everton 3-0 on the road.
REAL MADRID
Real Madrid were too strong for Liverpool in their Round of 16 clash winning 6-2 on aggregate with the damage been done in the 1st leg at Anfield where they won 5-2. They then saw off Chelsea 4-0 on aggregate in the quarter-finals with both legs going the way of Real Madrid by 2-0.
While disappointed to have conceded the equaliser against City in Spain, Real Madrid will fancy their chances if they can get off to a fast start.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Besides last week’s 1-1 draw, the sides had also met in the semi-finals of last season’s Champions League Cup with Real Madrid progressing after extra time. Manchester City had played the home leg first on that occasion winning 4-3 before Real Madrid won 3-1 to progress 6-5 on aggregate.

Manchester City 8/13
Draw 7/2
Real Madrid 4/1
The first leg was quite a nervy affair and there is no doubt that Manchester City are worthy favourites going into this one. They do have the habit of under-performing in pressure Champions League games though and Real Madrid are certainly not without a chance.
My interest in this game is fixed firmly on the goals market and over 2.5 goals is trading at 4/7 that is a bit short for my pocket though and I am going to go over 3.5 goals at 14/10. There may well be a cagey start, but I am expecting Manchester City to break through at some point and from there the game is really going to open up and let’s not forget that just 12 months ago we got a 4-3 thriller when these sides met at the Etihad Stadium.
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 14/10
