Cheltenham Festival 2025: Day 2 Preview
After a thrilling opening day at Prestbury Park, the action continues on Wednesday with another fantastic set of races. Punters will be looking to bounce back after a mixed day on Tuesday, and we’ve got some exciting prospects lined up for Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival.
3:20 – Turners Novices’ Hurdle
Final Demand – 6/4*
Final Demand has proven himself as a top-class novice hurdler, travelling strongly and jumping with precision in his impressive victory at Limerick. The competition will be fierce, but his rock-solid performance last time out suggests he has what it takes to land this Grade One contest.
4:00 – Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase
Ballyburn – 13/20*
A proven Festival winner, Ballyburn showcased his class with a dominant display at the Dublin Racing Festival. He has redeemed himself in style and thrives on the big stage. With an impeccable jumping technique and a knack for delivering under pressure, he looks set to add another Cheltenham victory to his name.
5:20 – Cross Country Steeple Chase
Stumptown – 5/2*
Stumptown already has winning form over this unique course and distance, having triumphed in a similar race before Christmas. While the handicapper has raised his rating, his trainer has a strong record of eking out further improvement from his runners. He’ll be a major player in this specialist test.
6:00 – Queen Mother Champion Chase
Jonbon – 8/10*
Jonbon is a horse of serious quality, and jockey Nico de Boinville knows exactly how to get the best out of him. Some may question his past Cheltenham performances, but his raw talent and form this season suggest he will be too strong for the field today. The Champion Chase is one of the most prestigious races of the week, and Jonbon looks primed to claim the crown.
With the Festival in full swing, Day 2 promises more unforgettable moments. Will these stars deliver, or will we see a surprise or two? Stay tuned and enjoy the action from Cheltenham!
