Double Superlative Surges to Victory in World Sports Betting Cape Town Met 2024
In a thrilling display of horseracing prowess, UK-based Zimbabwe-born jockey Daniel Muscutt guided the Justin Snaith-trained longshot, Double Superlative, to an impressive triumph at the World Sports Betting Cape Town Met held at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.
Muscutt showcased his skill by strategically positioning the winner on the outside, executing a calculated move from off the pace to outlast the valiant Rascallion. Despite Bernard Fayd’Herbe’s exceptional effort on Rascallion, it was Muscutt and Double Superlative who stole the spotlight.
Securing a triumphant 1-3 for owner Nic Jonsson, Rachel Venniker clinched third place aboard Without Question. The odds-on favorite, SEE IT AGAIN, fell short of expectations, finishing in fourth place.
Trainer Justin Snaith expressed his admiration for Double Superlative, stating, “I think he’s a gorgeous horse; it’s just sad he had a 14-month injury layoff. He was a group 1 winner, a champion 3-year-old, and it was a long, long road coming back.” Snaith extended his gratitude to various individuals, including Robbie Miller, the Divine family, and Bjorn Nielsen, who recommended Daniel Muscutt.
Snaith commended Muscutt, emphasizing their strategic approach, “He was the only jockey to walk the course with me yesterday. I knew it was game on. We only needed the favorite to have a little hiccup, and this horse would be all over him.”
Acknowledging the patience and support of friend and client Nic Jonsson, Snaith expressed his gratitude, “He’s a family friend, and to win another Met for him is incredible.”
World Sports Betting CEO Warren Tannous shared his pride in sponsoring the event for the third consecutive year. He applauded the vision of Greg Bortz, Owen Heffer, and the Cape racing team, highlighting the remarkable evolution of the event over the years.
Tannous stated, “We have been backing and sponsoring racing for the last 10 years, and we look forward to backing and supporting the sport in the near future.”
The World Sports Betting Cape Town Met continues to captivate audiences, showcasing the thrilling essence of horseracing on a grand scale.
