The DP World Tour continues this week with the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship which takes place across the St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns courses in Scotland and we select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
Format and Courses
This is a pro-am event and the highlight for many on the golfing calendar. Carnoustie is the toughest of the 3 courses and there should be plenty of birdies on St Andrews and Kingsbarns. The set up for the courses is normally forgiving due to the number of amateurs playing. Wind can often be a factor here though so players experienced in links conditions should be short listed.
The cut will be made after 54 holes with the top 60 players and ties taking on St Andrews in the final round.
Market Leaders
Tommy Fleetwood fresh off securing the Ryder Cup for Europe is the 8/1 market leader. Matt Fitzpatrick another Ryder Cup winner is 10/1 with defending Champ Ryan Fox currently 16/1.
There is no doubt those 3 are big runners but I will be looking to beat them with some bigger prices.

Alex Fitzpatrick each way at 50/1
Not to be confused with his higher ranked brother Alex is fast making a name for himself on tour. He won earlier in the season and although his form has dipped he has had a rest and I am backing him to come back fresh. He was 28th on debut last year and seems to be far improved in 2023.
Matt Wallace each way at 50/1
Wallace is a bit of an inconsistent player and he missed the cut last year but did have a top 15 year in 2019 so he has the game for links golf. Wallace had a runner up finish a few weeks back and although his form has dipped a bit he is a player I am watching closely and expecting big things from.
Dean Burmester each way at 28/1
Burmester has been lying his trade on the LIV Tour with some success including 2 top 3 finishes. South Africans don’t contend as often as they used to and I have a feeling that Burmester comes in eager to prove a point.
Eddie Pepperell each way at 66/1
His form at in this event in his last 5 starts reads 28,17,15,44 and 7 and although he comes in here after a pair of missed cuts he had 2 top 10s in his 3 starts before that and I am hoping he will be refreshed after a short break. The outspoken Brit is my outside for the week.
