The Ryder Cup, arguably the most exciting event in golf, comes around only once every two years, and it’s finally upon us. This year’s edition tees off on Thursday at Bethpage Black, where Team Europe and Team USA will battle it out for one of the sport’s most prestigious trophies. In this preview, we’ll look at the event from a betting perspective and highlight a few suggested plays.
The Course
Bethpage Black is regarded as one of the toughest golf courses in the world. Located on Long Island, New York, it has hosted several major championships, including the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. Stretching over 7,400 yards (6,767 metres), the layout is long, tight, and unforgiving. The rough is brutal, punishing any wayward tee shots and making approach play to the greens a daunting challenge. It’s a venue that demands both power and precision, ensuring only the very best will thrive under pressure.

With so many different formats and pairings only confirmed on the day, the Ryder Cup offers plenty of live betting opportunities across the three days. For this preview, though, we’ll focus on the bigger outright markets that cover the entire tournament.
As history shows, home advantage has often been decisive in the Ryder Cup. Since 2014, the host nation has won every edition. That said, this year feels like Europe’s best chance in a decade to win on American soil. The last time they managed it was the famous “Miracle at Medinah” in 2012, when they staged a dramatic final-day comeback.
Looking at the European lineup, of the 12 players, two are based on the LIV Tour, one plays primarily on the DP World Tour, and nine compete regularly on the PGA Tour. This reduces the edge the Americans usually enjoy from local course familiarity. Combine that with the excellent form shown by Europe’s core players this year, and I believe they can pull off something special at Bethpage Black.
Bet: Europe to win at 2.75
Scottie Scheffler has been the standout player of 2025, winning two majors and adding multiple other titles to his resume. His form leading into the Ryder Cup is outstanding, with two wins, a fourth, and a third place in his last four starts. Across the year’s four majors, Scheffler also posted the lowest scoring average at 69.00, a remarkable stat that puts him a shot and a half ahead of the next best.
The USA will be counting on him to deliver heavily at Bethpage Black, and given his consistency and dominance, he looks the most likely to rack up points for his team.
Bet: Top USA Points Scorer – Scottie Scheffler at 3.80
