The PGA Tour resumes for the final week of the Florida swing following the Players Championship. While some top players are taking a well-deserved break, the Valspar Championship still features some prominent names that will take to the 1st tee.
The Course
Just off the west coast of Florida, the Copperhead Course is located 25 miles northwest of Tampa. Known for its challenging layout, Copperhead is a parkland course that tests even the best players on tour. Several holes feature slight doglegs and tight fairways lined with trees, making accuracy crucial. The par 71 course measures 7,209 yards from the tips.

Selections:
Xander Schauffele at 8.50
After an impressive performance last week, just missing out on victory by one shot, Schauffele showed he is ready to go into the winners box again. Having had an impressive 2024 season so far with three top-five finishes and one top-10 finish in six starts, he is now looking to secure his first PGA Tour win of the season and must have every chance against a weaker field than what he faced at Sawgrass.
Suggested bet: Win only at 8.50.
Sam Burns at 14/1
The American golfer won the Valspar Championship back-to-back in 2021 and 2022. He has had an impressive 2024 season so far with three top-10 and one top-5 finish out of six starts. Burns is yet to miss a cut this year, and returning to Copperhead may give him the confidence to win again.
Suggested bet: Each way at 14/1.
Taylor Moore at 80/1.
An outside shout, however, if we look at the last five Valspar Championships, the winner of the previous year has gone on to defend his title twice (Paul Casey in 2019 and 2018, Sam Burns in 2021 and 2022). Moore won last year’s competition by one stroke and will look to defend his title on the back of some reasonable but not spectacular form with his last 5 starts all yielding finishes between 30th and 50th.
Suggested bet: Each way at 66/1.
