The PGA Tour returns with another signature event as the players travel to Ohio to take part in the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village. We take a look at this week’s golf from a betting angle and select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
The Course
This week’s tournament will be played at Muirfield Village. The courses greens are undulating and fast and the putter is going to be key for the players this week. The fairways are a little generous with smaller than average greens waiting at the end of them. The par 72 plays 7,533 yards or 6888 metres.

Here is a closer look at the top 3 in the betting:
Scottie Scheffler at 7/2
The world number 1 has continued his impressive season finishing 2nd at the Charles Schwab Challenge two weeks ago and 8th at the PGA Championship. Scheffler finished 3rd at the 2023 and 2021 Memorial and will look to use that as a boost this week as he prepares for the US Open.
Xander Schauffele at 9/1
This will be Schauffele’s first week back since his win at the PGA Championship. He has finished in the top 25 in his last 5 starts and will be keen to continue his hot run of form this weekend. The American has been playing remarkable golf, showing why he is one of the best in the world.
Rory McIlroy at 9/1
Rory, Scheffler and Schauffele have been dominating the golf world over the recent weeks. During his last 4 tournaments, Rory has won twice, finished 4th once and finished 12th at the PGA Champs on the other occasion. Rory finished 7th at last year’s Memorial and will look to use this weekend as preparation to chase his fifth major title at the US Open next week.

Selections:
Of the top 3 in the betting I want Scheffler on my team this week.
My Bet: Scheffler win only at 7/2
My Bet: Cantlay each way at 25/1
Cantlay has been a bit off his game in recent weeks but has still cashed and at a course where he is a 2 time winner and has 5 top 10’s in his last 7 starts I fancy him for a big one.
My Bet: Sungjae Im each way at 60/1
Im fits the bill of an outsider with a chance and he was 10th here 2 years ago. His recent form has been fluctuating but he has had a top 5 and a top 10 in his last 3 starts.
My Bet: Billy Horschel each way at 70/1
Horschel won here in 2022 and he has had 3 top 10’s here in his last 6 starts. He did miss the cut last year though but that is why we are getting 70/1. He was top 10 2 weeks back and finished top 25 last week so his game is in shape heading to one of his favourite courses.
