The PGA Tour returns to Texas after a brilliant week at the PGA Championship where Xander Schauffele came out on top. We will take a look at this week’s golf from a betting angle and pick 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
The Course
The Colonial Country Club will play host to this week’s tournament, located in Fort Worth, Texas. The course has a number of tight tree lined dog legs with small greens that demand accuracy from tee to green. Driving Accuracy is usually more important than Distance at this track. The par 70 plays 7,209 yards (6592 metres)

Selections:
Scottie Scheffler at 26/10
There is a reason he is the number one golfer in the world, Scheffler has finished in the top 10 in his last 5 starts, with three being wins and one runner-up. His worst result of his recent starts was an 8th place finish at last week’s PGA Championship and he had the drama of being arrested prior to the 2nd round to contend with. Scheffler finished 3rd at last years Charles Schwab Challenge and runner-up the year before. With a weaker field this week, Scottie will definitely be in with a massive chance to win it.
Suggested bet: Win outright at 26/10
Jordan Spieth at 20/1
Spieth knows his way around the Colonial Country Club having won the Charles Schwab Challenge in 2016, finishing runner-up on another 3 occasions as well as another 3 top 10 finishes in the last 10 years. Spieth has not been on the hottest run of form over recent weeks, however, he will look to use his familiarity with the course to get a good result this weekend.
Suggested bet: Each way at 20/1
Brian Harman at 40/1
Harman is another player who is familiar with the Colonial Club, only missing the cut once in his last 10 starts and securing 3 top 10 finishes. The major winner finished 26th at last weeks PGA Championship and will look to improve this week on a course that should better reward his accuracy off the tee.
Suggested bet: Each Way at 40/1
