Week 2 of the 2025 PGA Tour is here as the players stay in Hawaii for the Sony Open. Some of the best players in the world will be taking part this week and so the competition will be fierce. We select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
Course
The Sony open will be held at Waiale Country Club a par 70 layout. The course is one of the shorter layouts on tour however the tightness of the fairways and winds from the Pacific can make it a difficult challenge for the best of golfers. Water comes into play on just five holes and the Parkland course plays at just over 7000 yards.
Driving accuracy is likely to be more important than driving distance this week.

SELECTIONS:
Hideki Matsuyama at 10.00
Hideki is coming off of the perfect start to his 2025 PGA Tour season winning The Sentry last weekend. He will be hoping to win the Sony Open for a second time after winning it back in 2022. The 2021 Masters champion will be looking to continue his hot start and I fancy him to go back to back.
Hideki Matsuyama each way at 10.00
Russell Henley at 21.00
Henley has an impressive record at the Sony Open with two top five finishes in his last three starts at the tournament. He finished runner up in 2022 losing out to Hideki Matsuyama in a playoff after finishing the tournament -23. Henley finished 30th last week and will be looking to improve on this at a course he is comfortable with.
Russell Henley each way at 21.00
Nick Taylor at 111.0
Taylor has thrived at the Sony open over the last three years with two top 10 finishes in his last two starts and an 11th place finish in 2022. He only finished 48th last week but Taylor will be looking to put in a solid performance at a course he plays well at and earn himself as many FedEx Cup points as possible.
Nick Taylor each way at 111.0 and a bigger bet on a top 10 finish at 9.50.
Chris Kirk at 56.00
Kirk was disappointing last week finishing in the top 50 but he is another who really enjoys this course. Runner up 4 years back he was 3rd in 2023 and Top 20 last year. The reason for his big price is some indifferent form of late but I have a feeling he is going to produce the good this week.
Chris Kirk each way at 56.00
