The PGA Tour leaves the United States this week and heads to Japan for the Baycurrent Classic, formerly known as the ZOZO Championship. With only a handful of events left on the calendar, players are battling not only for prize money but also to secure enough points to keep their PGA Tour cards for next season. We will take a look at this week’s golf from a betting perspective and highlight a few suggested plays.
Course
Yokohama Country Club will play host, offering a composite layout that draws on 16 holes from the West Course and 2 holes from the East Course. Measuring around 7,250 yards (6,630 metres) and playing to a par 70, the course is known for its clever routing through natural valleys, ridges, and wooded terrain. This design gives the event a distinctive character compared to many traditional PGA Tour stops.
The layout offers a mix of challenges. Several holes provide wide landing areas, inviting players to open up with the driver, while others demand precision with tighter fairways and strategically placed bunkering. The greens are relatively small and well-protected, rewarding players who can hit crisp approaches and control spin. Power off the tee can be an advantage on the longer par 4s and par 5s, but ultimately this is a test of accuracy, patience, and smart course management.
In summary: Yokohama Country Club should suit versatile ball-strikers who combine length with accuracy, as well as steady putters who can adapt to slightly quicker bentgrass greens. Expect scoring opportunities for the aggressive, but mistakes are punished quickly.

Garrick Higgo each way at 45.00
