The DP World Tour heads to Spain this week for the Open de España, one of the standout events on the European schedule. With only a few weeks left in the season, players will be eager to finish strong and boost their Race to Dubai standings. Course
The Club de Campo Villa de Madrid plays host, with the field taking on its famed Black Course. Measuring 7,112 yards (6,503 metres) and playing as a par 71, the course is shorter than many on tour but more than makes up for it with its tricky design. Scoring is possible, but only for those who manage their way carefully around the doglegs and take advantage of the birdie chances on the shorter par 5s and par 4s.
In summary: The Black Course favours accurate drivers, sharp iron players, and those who excel at controlling spin into tight targets. Good scrambling and a hot putter are essential, as the small greens leave little room for error.

Rahm chases a fourth Open de España title on home soil. He arrives off a superb Ryder Cup showing and was runner-up here last year, so course comfort is clear. Club de Campo rewards precise driving and crisp approaches into small targets, both Rahm strengths. If the putter behaves, he sets the standard.
Angel Ayora each way at 36.00
Three of the last four winners of the Open de España have all been Spanish players, showing how well they perform in front of their home crowd. Ayora is coming into this week off the back of a 5th place finish at last weekend’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This was his second top 5 finish in his last six starts. He has also managed to secure a top 10 and a top 15 finish in his last six starts. I think he will be buzzing to play in front of his home crowd and stands a good chance of doing very well this week because of that.
Kristoffer Reitan each way at 29.00
Reitan is trending at the right time, backing up a top-five at the Open de France with another top-five at the Alfred Dunhill Links. His recent control with irons and calm scrambling should travel well to Club de Campo’s undulating, parkland setup. Momentum plus a good course fit makes him a value each-way.
