After a week’s break, Formula 1 returns for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix which will take place at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola) circuit near the town of Imola, Italy. We will take a look at this weekend’s race from a betting angle.
CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Max Verstappen remains heavy favourite to win the championship and is trading at 1.01. Lando Norris has jumped into second place in the odds and is trading at 33/1 while Sergio Perez is trading at 40/1.
In the “Winner without Verstappen” markets, Perez remains favourite trading at 1.50 while Lando Norris is trading at 5.50 after his win at the Miami Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc is also trading at 5.50 followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz who is trading at 12/1.

Emilia Romagna Grand Prix 2023
Last year’s race in Imola had to be cancelled due to heavy storms in the area during the time leading up to the race. However, in 2022 Red Bull finished 1st and 2nd with Verstappen winning and Perez grabbing second spot. Norris finished 3rd to grab his second podium finish at Imola in two years.

VERDICT
Verstappen has won 4 out of the 6 races this year and will most likely win this weekend if everything goes according to plan.
Lando Norris has had 3 podium finishes in his 6 races this season, his most recent race being his maiden win. He has also finished on the podium at Imola in his last two races and looks set to beat the rest of the field, (excluding Verstappen) this weekend.
Suggested Bet: Lando Norris to finish 2nd at 2/1.
Red Bull have the car to dominate this year’s championship and with Verstappen already putting his foot down so early on in the season, they will just be relying on Perez to secure as many points as he can early on. Perez has had 4 podium finishes in his 6 races this season and looks set to repeat come this weekend. Red Bull will be looking for both cars to finish in podium spots and this is priced at 1/1 but given I fancy Verstappen to win and Norris for 2nd place it makes sense t take Perez for 3rd at 3 times the price of both Red Bulls to podium.
