The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve plays host to this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.
Max Verstappen strengthened his grip on the 2022 Formula 1 Championship with a comfortable win over teammate, Sergio Perez in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last week. A consistent George Russell was 3rd in his Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton showed his first signs of life for some time finishing 4th.
It was a disastrous weekend for the Ferrari’s and Charles Leclerc failed to finish and now trails Verstappen by 34 points and 2nd place, Sergio Perez by 13 points. Verstappen has now shortened into 4/11 to win the Drivers Championship with Leclerc 33/10 and Perez, who we suggested was too big last week at 22/1 is now into 12/1.

The Canadian Grand Prix takes place for the first time since 2019 and that year it was Lewis Hamilton who won in Mercedes, his 4th win in Canada in 5 years.

Suggested Bet: Charles Leclerc win at 3/1
Leclerc hasn’t had a good run of things of late, but he does have the speed to challenge the Red Bull. This circuit with plenty of turns should suit the Ferrari more than the Red Bull. I am going to back Leclerc to breathe some life back into the title race and remember this bet comes with a money back in free bets insurance – T & C’s apply.
Suggested Bet: Top 6 finish Vettel at 9/2
Vettel delivered a points finish for us last week and we are going to go one better and back him to match his 6th place finish in Azerbaijan. Vettel will have fond memories of this track having won here in 2013 and 2018
