F1 returns for the 2025 season and fans couldn’t be more excited. With some new names and some familiar names racing for new teams, a lot can change over the off season.
The action gets going in Melbourne and we look at this weekends race from a betting angle and share our bets.
DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP
With a new season ahead of us all teams and drivers will be full of optimism and excitement.
After trying to chase down Max Verstappen in last years Drivers Championship, Lando Norris fell short, but this year could be different if McLaren manage to get off to a strong start. The bookies have Lando Norris as favourite to win the Championship, trading at 2.60 while Verstappen is trading at 4.30. Charles Leclerc is trading at 5.50 with new teammate Lewis Hamilton trading at 6.50.

VERDICT
As it is the opening race of the year and teams have made some significant changes, not only to their cars, but also to the driver driving the cars, it is very tough to call who will win this weekend, however, there are a few telltales that may guide us in the right direction.
Lewis Hamilton will go down in F1 history as one of the greatest drivers of all time. With seven Drivers Championship titles to his name, he has been here and done it all.
Hamilton will be racing in red this year as he moves from Mercedes to Ferrari and it is going to take some adjusting for long time F1 and Hamilton fans.
At the pre-season testing he put together some very decent laps, showing the pace of the Ferreri as they enter the new season. I can see Lewis making a statement this weekend.
Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton to win at 8.00.

In his second year on the F1 circuit, Oscar Piastri showed the F1 world that he has what it takes to drive with the best of the best. Going under the radar as his teammate chased down Verstappen, Piastri continued to deliver vital points week in and week out which were pivotal in McLarens Constructors Championship. Piastri will be fuelled by his home crowd and the start of a new season this weekend and I can see him putting in a very good drive.
Suggested Bet: Oscar Piastri podium finish at 2.40
